Topic: Anyone Ever Use Spring Spacers For Drag Racing?

Just wondering if anyone on here has used Spring Spacers for drag racing. 

You pop them into the coil springs in the front and back to help eliminate squatting on the launch.

I think I'm going to go with this method to help take some pressure off my new rear diff the next time I go to the track.  Should also help with the bogging on launch too....

Sounds like something I wouldn't want in my springs if everything goes sideways at 100+ MPH...

Never used them in the back when I was drag racing, always in the front.

Hmmm..Did having them in the front help eliminate the squatting?

Buy a better set of coil overs, there isn't  whole lot of room in the springs for lift spaces.

I'm looking for something cheap I can change out at the track. Plus I like how the car rides now I just want to limit the squat at the track.

Latinvenom..did you notice if the spacers in the front lessened squatting on your launches?

Isn't weight transfer desirable? You want the car to squat some, just not too much obviously. I also wouldn't see this as a solution for bogging, that's either poor launch technique or a terrible lack of power. (FWIW, I'm a serial bogger, so I can't claim to have good launch technique.)

Yes, my front end was very stiff with the setup I had, understand this was many, many years ago and it was on a 64 Vette.

I was looking at my videos from last year and the squatting would be fine if it didn't immediately rebound back to the front. 

If you think about it logically if you see your car rocking back and forth you are putting lots of weight over the back tire for lots of traction then immediately rebounding towards the front which would cause a loss of weight over the back tires or a loss of traction again.  That's exactly like what you would see with a car wheel hopping.

Yeah it bouncing back like that is a problem.

Stupid question maybe, but have you tried what happens with a full tank of gas? Added weight might not kill your time if it helps your 60'.

squat and lower tire pressure on the rear = better launch traction
Higher tire pressure on fronts = less resistance and better speed down the track

Both = Shitty street handling
