New guy - recently picked up a 2008 Redline in NJ.  Lots of fun when the CEL isn't on, haha.  Fighting with it over a P0101 code, working through troubleshooting, I am sure I will be asking questions.

Welcome to the forum.  MAF codes can be a pain, pickup some cleaner and give it a shot.  Do you have the GMPP upgrade?

Nope no tune, guy before me just has the RPM dual cone CAI, no other mods as far as I can tell. MAF looked pretty new, I cleaned it up anyway but same result.  Adjusted the wastegate, same deal.  I keep monkeying around with the throttle body elbow, I think I am going to replace it and put on upgraded clamps, has the originals on there, wonder if they are the leak.

Car seems to be holding boost fine, it happily gives me 15-16 psi and seems solid through the power-band.  Just after 40 or so miles the ECU throws the code and cuts down the turbo.  So it makes me think it is more sensor related than a physical leak, not sure it would hold 16 psi fine and be leaky.

#1 cause of P0101 code- boost leak.

Remove all factory clamps and replace with upgrades. While you are swapping- wipe all tubes.
#1a- look for broken nipple at pipe end of rubber hose for crankcase vent.

#2 cause- ballooned factory original IC. Hard to see until you see it. Look for a hippo hiding in your IC

#3- bad GMPP upgraded sensors- need to hard solder wires and remove crimp connector. (Not likely your issue if you are all original)

#4- bad tune. Retune to solve. (Again- not likely you)

If the RPM air filters were coated with oil, that could be your problem also.

Would cone type filters be oiled?

Also not a stock hood, its a fiberglass deal with the vented scoop in the front - thoughts on water ingestion as throwing off maf in intake?

I am getting a new OBD scanner to run with the car so I can see what the MAF is doing while I drive.  Yesterday was significantly warmer than any previous day i've had the car - car started in limp mode in the morning and came out of it after 10 minutes of driving and dropped the CEL... then drove happy as a clam for the rest of the day. I am wondering if the warmer air dried it out a bit maybe?

Like Gentleman Jack mentioned there is a good possibility that your intercooler is swollen and leaking. You really should take the time to test with a few fittings and a compressor to see if you have leaks in the charge system. Here is one way a member years ago tested his.

This is the device I sup together to test. I just hook it up the same as Kenny did and hooked it to my compressor. Keep the pressure low and below 20 PSI or so or you WILL have leaks.   :barf2:
