Wondering where that will put performance tires... Will those folks just go to a neighbouring state to buy their tires?

Mods: Lose the chicklets, VentureShield, Dual horns, AfterShock spoiler, Weathershield cover, Lil Chromies, Red calipers with black Solstice stickers, Opel GT antenna and Solo GXP-RCD exhaust with a Solo hi-flow cat!

Most performance tires are grippy so rolling resistance is probably a bit high.  Guessing they'll be banned. 

If they were really worried about consumer finances they could have just lowered taxes on gas.

If I had to drive to another state to buy tires I would have a look at some houses too.

So you save 176 dollars over the lifetime of the tires that cost you 250-300 dollars more a set.

And that's at CA fuel prices so it's not a lot of fuel.  Which you probably burn more of because of traffic jams in CA.  Wonder how many tax dollar were wasted setting up the commission that sets this standard.
