Wiper Blades
« on: April 04, 2009, 08:07:00 PM »
Whats your feeling on wiper blades?  Best for our cars?  I bought a pair of the new Rain-x expensive ones for my Impala.  Not worth the money I paid.   :gaah:
I'm very intelligent, but I mask it by doing stupid stuff.

Yea I have the RainX POS on my truck, not happy with them at all. I think I put the best Bosch ones I could find on the Solstice, beat the heck out of the factory blades that's for sure, they are 2 different sizes, I just think that's weird.

TRIPLEDGE All Season Premium Silicone Lifetime Warranty have served me well for years. Can only find them at Wally World around here. RainX washer fluid works well with these blades also.
16" and 22" on the Solstice and the arms are included with blades, makes for an easy change out.

I put a set of those flexi-blade wipers (I think they were Rainx as well) on my truck.  They worked great in the city.  Unfortunately I live in the country so I drive the highways a lot, and they are crap at anything over 40 MPH!!  Once you get up to highway speeds, the wind lifts them off the windshield and they basically just try to scare the water off.  They lasted about 2 weeks before I chucked them.

That is weird. I'll replace mine with the Bosch ones when the time comes. Thanks.

I use Tryco or Trico on all my cars.  I buy the entire blade, not just the rubber.  Replace them twice a year.  In the Spring with the regular blade, and in the winter with the rubber encased winter blade.

Haven't have to replace the one's on the Sol yet, of course they don't get used much, as I normally don't need them at 50+ speeds.

What is the specific size for our car?  I need new blades soon but I don't know how I have to pick the right size.

Glad to have a quick review on the Rain-X wipers, was thinking about buying them. Now I know better.
