I hope, what ever happens, that the owners of this forum don't sell out to Auto Guide like so many other forums have done.

No way, since I'm the owner :)

Hmmmm.  A no for windrestrictor to spend a couple of bucks on my favorite forum.     Maybe another vendor, making a better windrestrictor will step up to the plate.  I do not like to support any business that disses my friends.

I will send them a email.

There is a lot of us that have moved over here and obviously we are going to make this work. I'll have a talk with Stephen about becoming a vendor, we need them here, along with the rest. Don't know why they wouldn't.  :idk:

Hey, he makes a  business decision to save 40 bucks and we make a business decision to spend thousands elsewhere.  If ya think I am kidding at around 300 plus for a lit windrestrictor, I know two people (I will not say who they are but their names are both Joe) who are ready to order a new windrestrictor very soon.  I know they can find other places to buy one.  I also know three other new people who want to buy a windrestrictor like product.  Free choice allows any company to support this place or not and my free choice allows me to spend $ with anyone I want.

Perhaps this explains why everyone has a hard time understanding doctor's bills.

I agree, I can't believe they passed on $40 bucks.  Pretty crapy if you ask me.

If they only knew how loose the slots are over here, $40 would seem like chump change. . . . .

The wallets will snap shut if a vendor doesn't show the love or makes a bad product, 'tho.

I am looking for a wind restrictor of some sort but we haven't a sponsor that sells them? Have to wait until we do.

In the mean time, the Tilley hats don't work too badly.

I contacted Stephen over at Windrestrictor today....

They have two products I want...

The Windrestrictor and the Illuminated Door Sills (still in testing)

Told them I would place orders for both once they become available and when they become a supporting vendor here on this forum. They will easily recoup that with my order :D

Way to go BO.  I agree 100%.  I know I will buy a set of lighted door sills when they come out.

Sounds like a plan, call them and say "I want to buy such and such, do you have a discount plan with kp.com?"  "oh you are not a sponsor, sorry to bother you"

Kappa Wind Blade (WB)  said they would become a supporting vendor.  I installed a WB for RAJay on Friday and it is a very good quality product.  Something I've never seen below.  A wind blade with inlays on it.  too cool.   This will be my replacement...

Yeah, I might have to do the same.  My WR has a crack.  I think I might go with the tempered glass one behind the seat.

I saw two windrestrictors with flex cracks, I am concerned they just can not make it with flexing and weather changes.  I saw the kappawindblade and to me, it looked like it was made to withstand the elements and also was of really high quality.  I will see if we can get him to post some more sample pictures.

Forgive my ignorance and lack of knowledge about wind devices... However, I have some questions...

Seems like the WB tempered glass is the way to go... My question is this...

Can it be etched?
Can it be illuminated like the WR?
How and where does it mount?

I really dont want to drill holes... Not a fan of that because no matter what you do, it leaks and becomes a point for rust to come into play. I also dont want something that is going to crack.

Thanks in advance!!!

Yes on illumination and it can be etched however I am not sure how it mounts but I will see if Joe can get the owner to posts some pictures and answer some questions.

It mounts in the interior behind the two seats like WR does but instead of using Velcro, it uses two screws.  The screws do not go through the plastic behind the seats beneath the humps and exit into the trunk area so there is no issue of leaks.  I've the seen another WR that the Velcro is starting to come off.  This could become an issue at 75+ mph on the highway and the seat isn't all the way back to support it.

First, Thank you Joe for spending a day off working on my car.  The windscreen turned out great.  I purchased it from Raymond Zolich of Kappa Windscreens.   I just wanted to clarify in case people thought that I purchased a "Windblade" from Kappasphere.

The windscreen screws into the frame.  We (hehe) drilled a hole through the black plastic to line up with the appropriate screw in the frame.  I can post some pictures later tonight.  It was very solid when driving around.  I feel better about this install method over high-strength velcro.  I also think this method looks closer to factory.
