Here's my new concept for the rear diffuser based off of SOLO's center rear exhaust.  I wanted a cleaner approach yet a bit more exotic than the OEM diffuser with the center exhaust and vents.  Still in its preliminary stages, I'd like to finish the CAD file and get a mold machined out for prototyping by the summer if not sooner.  Anyways, what do you think?

Rudy, you should be working for GM so we can have this car looking this way from the factory. You are going to cost me WAY too much money if this keeps up.

The only thing you will have to worry about is how low the center exhaust sits...having put on a bunch of them on my own car, I will tell you that the position of the tips is lower than in your CAD diagram.  The design is awesome, though.  if you look at Norm's diffuser, you will see that the opening for the tips is at the bottom of the diffuser.  There is a huge foam piece that sits very near the opening in your design.  Just a heads up.

Rudy has a center Solo on his car.  I thought the same thing when I first saw it, but he took the dimensions into account from his car.  I spoke with him about it this morning and he designed that trim ring in to offer more flexibility due to different fitting Solo exhausts.

Yeah, before I worked on the design, I took precise measurements of the SOLO exhaust tips and the location in reference to my current diffuser which is from Norm.  The renderings just show a preliminary look of the design.  I still need to work on the other details like the mounting tabs and other minute stuff you don't normally notice.  Like I mentioned to Yamatr3 this morning, I'm probably going to scale the center ring larger vertically a bit more as I'm going to expand the cavity on the diffuser surrounding the tips to allow for tolerance play on the exhaust positioning up and down.

BTW, someone mentioned about seeing the same color diffuser as the body from the other board.  I'm probably going to end up doing this as I want to have the diffuser to blend well with the rest of the body vs. breaking it up like the OEM.

I have more respect for dual center exhaust now lol.  I used to think they pretty much looked like garbage, especially the stacked ones ...but not with this style difusser.   I still wont give up my dual side exit exhaust but I must say that the centers actually look good now with this style difusser.

It just flows so well.  It's funny how bad our original is to oogle over something that looks like OEM on other makes.

Rudy, nice work...  One thing though.  The tips don't appear to be beyond the valance which means there will be soot on them and a daily cleaning ritual.   

Personally, I don't like any honeycomb inserts on the rear as the air returns as a low pressure there and collects alot of dirt.

The problem is you only allow 256KB jpeg's and if I modify the size then they are not that sharp.

Oh my Rudy, that is indeed a beast!  You will sell a ton of them.  Love the look on the sample mock-down.  Can't wait to see what they will look like in Aggressive, but I am sure it will be a knock-out.

Actually I have the tips come past the diffuser on the lower half but the upper half is somehwat flushed with the ring.  Good point about the soot.  I may need to make the ring a bit more shallower but not too much.

Regarding the honeycomb inserts, they will be laser cut grill inserts that can be removed to be painted a different color or kept off the valence to have a more open vent area if you like.  So keeping the inserts off the valence would be entirely up to you.

I saw the pics you posted on the other board.  I actually have a design in mind that will acommodate for the separate dual exhaust and will have the same design flavor as this one.  I probably won't go into prototyping that version until I finish up with this newer one as I want to get this prototyped and fitted onto the vehicle to make sure everything fits and looks clean.  Unfortunately, financing these big projects are not easy as I have some current ones that are just around the corner of being released soon.  But, I'll definitely get these rolling as soon as I can.

Yes, I will be designing parts for the sky as well.  I already have the CAD files for the vehicle in my possession.  I'm just concentrating on the sol for now so I can get these parts into production ASAP.  Once I finish, I will start venturing into the sky vehicle and will post announcements on the sky forum when I do.  Thanks for asking.
