Hood Jiggle
« on: April 13, 2009, 01:46:24 PM »
It seems to me that the hood jiggles a little too much when I'm driving down the road and go over a bump.  It may be where I'm sitting but I notice it on the driver's side where the crease is.

Is this normal... does it have a little movement to it normally?

TIA

There are 2 rubber bumpers under neath near the windshield on the lower side of the hood, one on each side.  Back them out a little at a time by twisting counter clockwise.  They are about 3/4" diameter.  That should take up the slack and prevent the jiggle.

Movement by the windshield or up by the nose more?  I've noticed mine is getting some up front lately as I get close to the Michigan tinovur speed limit.

I need to pop out the headlamps and check the bracket stops here soon.  Maybe if I have time while I'm at Norms slapping on my side skirts tomorrow  :yay:.
07 Deep GXP auto.  A lot of cosmetic upgrades but not enough performace mods. YET.

 like to boogie.

I had what I thought was the front end squeek there's a bulletine about. Tech. said it was actually the hood not being aligned. So they fixed that and found the bushing, I think, in the rear needed to be replaced. All good now.

I was trying to pay closer attention to where the jiggle is, and I think it may actualy be closer to the front.

Found the little rubber bumper thing under the back left lip of the hood and turned her out a 1/2 turn - no more jiggle!

With the hood up, check the hinges and mounting hardware for tightness.  I think the Sky has a rubber piece on top of a bolt.
