Arabas, your GTs work correctly, we don't have auto-light ON based on dark sensor (AFAIK).

Auto-lights means they will start by default (when you put the key in the ignition).

I know this is a bit apples-to-oranges, but with my '08 Solstice, the auto light sensor dims (in sun) or brightens (in dark) the headlamps if they are ON in Auto mode.  Similarly it lights the instrument cluster in the dark.  It does not, however, turn the DRL lights on or off by itself - you have to have Auto mode selected on the stalk.

to add to what soup is saying.  You turn the DRL's off by AUTO LIGHTS OFF.  This is true, it is the only way to turn them off.  However this also turns the function of the lights to come on or turn off automatically because you have disabled that feature by turning in off.

What you want to know is there another way?  Someone, I don't remember where has found which fuses control the lights, I believe there is one on each lamp.  They had to do something else to make everything work.   Maybe someone esle can point you in the right direction

On my 2009 GXP, it was fuse 49 (and labeled DRL on the fusebox map).  Disables DRL and nothing else; auto on/off still works.
