Just found this forum from the main forum. So HI to all here. As a tool & die mold maker, I have access to most anything I want to use, including cnc's. I just prices some aluminum, and as moldmakers, we use 7075-T6 on most cavity applications, and 6060-T6 on other non-critical applications, such as rails and ejector plates. The tensile strength of 1/4" 7075-T6 vs 6061-T6 is 83,000 psi vs 45,000 psi, and the yield strength is 73,000 psi vs 40,000 psi. I guess for the few $$$ extra, I want to make this thing from 7075-T6, and might just do it on a CNC and make several! Got a powder coater around the corner from us, also.
