Topic: Door Handle Lights?!

I was sitting bored at home and my addiction to LEDs came into play as I sat there thinking about what else can be done lol and it hit me....lights for the door handles!!!! Still trying to figure out how to do it, got a couple ways of doing it, jus haven't commited to a certain way yet. Tell me what you think please!!!

I hope you can figure out how to do this.  It would be nice if they lit up when you hit the door unlock on the key fob, and went off when you started the car.  You would probably need a timeout as well, in case you don't actually start the car.  Don't out map lights do that?  Maybe you can tap into that wire?

I believe when you hit your unlock on your remote, the parking lights come on.  You could wire it to them.

Yea i jus did the wires like that for display purposes hahaha....but yea i am going to wire them to the map light jus as i did with the entry lights under the door. I dont know if I would stick with the white or go with red to match the them on mines

If you wired them to the map lights, they wouldn't turn on if you hit unlock on the fob, right?  If you wired them to the parking lights, they would always be on when the parking lights are on.  If you wired them to the brights (at least on the Sky) when you hit unlock the brights go on, then turn off after a bit if you don't enter the car.  When you do use your brights, normally (unless you are cruel) no one should be around to see that the handle lights come on.

Tie into the gray wire coming out of the fuse box, map lights come on when you unlock your car then fade out slowly.

I have to ask how much horse power these leds good for? Think they will give you more than the lambo doors.

+10hp each door for the lights. But the Lambo doors give +25HP and +20torque.

It is a joke, started long time ago in a Galaxy far far away, some of us are more performance oriented, goes along with a saying from the Harley world, "chrome won't get you home". I like leds had a full light show on my bike at one time, and on my truck, lights would dance to the music. Never done it to the Solstice.
