Norm's Hood- Recent Pictures
« on: June 05, 2009, 09:06:39 AM »
As some of you know, Norm has been working on an extreme hood for our Solstice...some people have loved it and others said it's not for them.  At first, I thought the hood was not for me, but Norm has sent me some recent pictures of it finished and painted, and I have totally changed my mind.  The pictures he had posted were unfinished, and in my opinion, the new pictures make this hood one of the nicest around.  My car was backed into recently, so I might need to replace the hood.  This is what I think I might go with if the numbers pan out.  I highly recommend Norm's products.

I want to say $1200, but I am not toally positive.  That would have to be something Norm chimes in on.

It does look really great and it brings a bit of that vintage Pontiac look to the Solstice.

You could pick one up second hand, but it's unbelievably difficult reading the Carfax for an invisible car.

Ben is good with invisibility.  I'm still learning.

Love the old school Formula Firebird look in the front and a place for the hot air to escape out the back.

Now on a rainy day, wouldn't the water pour into the engine or is there something that would prevent this?

Good question...I am assuming the front where the duct is on top of the front bumper.  I asked Norm if I would have trouble with water and he said I would not.

Is this a modification of an existing hood, or a completely new fabrication?

These pics look much better than the earlier ones. I'll want to see it on a car to decide if I really like it yet.

No.  I'm not sure but I do know the hood is half the weight of stock...so I am assuming that the rear panels are the same.

Those rear panels are way expensive, $900 for the pair.

Probably because of the time he takes to develop the part and mock it up...don't know.  Anything custom is going to have a higher price...that's what I have seen.
