Sure seems like it. The green o-rings that come with the sensors do not fill the hole without air leaking. The GMPP kit provides 2 blue thicker O-rings that you replace the green ones with.
I need those blue ones.

GM #12626998 off my plastic bag that came with the kit for the Blue O-rings.
You could also take the blue ones off the stock sensors IF They are not Damaged.

My dealer couldn't find the o-rings (I broke one when putting it on the sensor). After going back and forth with GM Tech, they ended up telling me I needed to buy a fuel injector o-ring kit (one of several). They sold me the one they had in stock for about $15.

I didn't want to take the chance of messing them up then having no sensors at all.
I'm going to call my local dealer first, then Dejon dave if they can't help

There was a bunch of kits that were shipped with defective O rings.  Mine was one and the tech made an O ring for both sensors.  Later, Crate engine sent me replacement O rings.  We replaced O ring on one sensor but the other was so tight, we could not get it out.  We were worried about breaking off the plastic tube.

I always wondered if this was part of the problem of errant codes.  I wish someone could get a bunch of the proper O rings.  Dealer said he could not get them.

My dealer is unable to get them as well.
They wanted $40 for the kit Liquid mentioned.
Looks like I will be calling Dejon Dave.
What a pita. How the fawk can they not get a part in a kit they sell?

I called Crate Engine Depot and they are sending me a couple.
Once I get those, I will install the new sensors, but I am going to wait until I get a code besides a P0101.

FYI click on the Graphic to the right labelled
Shop GM accessories
It's the new name for Crate Engine Depot
these guys rock

FYI
1 month and no issues.  Looks like it might have been a wiring issue.  Eliminating the butt connectors and soldering the wires has been working for 4 weeks so far

Elf, I do not want to jinx myself but after having limp mode on 4 out of 5 days, I did you wiring mod (actually drove to Joe's to have him solder wires)

Well 1 week and 2 days with nothing but pure power.

Two early for me to declare victory but thank you so much for all your ideas and help.

Awesome!!
If I get to nationals and back, I am going to consider it a resolved issue.
Keeping my fingers crossed as I want the DDM big wheel upgrade and tune.
300hp at the real wheels will keep me happy.

Should we think about upgrading pistons?

I could be wrong because most of the time this technical talk to gibberish to me but I think someone posted a similar resolution on the solstice forum this morning...

Yup

That's exactly what I did.  I posted on that thread to add confirmation.
Alot of people were saying Mine and Chuck's issue sounded like an electrical inconsistency, so I finally got sick of it and rewired it myself.

Chuck,
Not sure about upgraded Pistons yet.  It's weird, we have had some Kappa engine explosions but the Cobalt guys seem to push mid 300hp to almost 400hp without problems.

I do realize the Solstice performance book says replace pistons at 300hp, so I'm torn.
But until I break that mark, it's a non issue.

Maybe the balt guys are doing more racing and everyone here just cruises around with our tops down rarely going past 1/4 throttle

That jibberish, zzp ran over 500whp on the stock pistons, its the rods that started to give at the hp level and not the pistons.
Gm would not release a 290hp upgrade kit with pistons rated at 300hp.

Is 300hp wheel or brake?

IMAJ
the Upgrade kit is at the engine
It's 265hp at the real wheel with the GMPP kit

Rods, Pistons, Crankshaft
Doesnt matter to me.  If one breaks, they normally all break and that ends up being a pretty fawked up engine.
Just because people get away with it, doesn't mean it's not pushing the envelope.

This is getting to be a different discussion from the original topic.

It is amazing that the fix to all these problems of GMPP tune is to replace the connections that came with the kit and dealers installed with a solution developed by gearheads on the forums.

Thank you Elf
