No, but I am at the dealers right now. Hopefully they will find something. I am betting on a bad sensor, MAP MAF or one of the O2s. I just wonder if that can cause the ECM to cut off boost.

Also it never happens during WOT. When I start the car, it is either good to go (most of the time) or intermittently, No Boost.

I will keep you posted.

That's what happens with mine.
Next time I am going to keep it at the dead state and have them look at it.

I tried that as it was dead yesterday. Parked the car, made the appointment and started this morning on trip to dealer and darn it, ran perfect and check engine light went out.

Can not catch a break here! Whats worse is I am way out of warranty. So I hope they find it on the first try.

Stay tuned as I will post as soon as they tell me something. Are we the only two with this problem?

I've read of 2 other people who had the issue. Both Sky's
One guy had a sensor replaced. I can't remember what happened with the other guy

Ok, dealer gave the old failure to duplicate. He cleared codes (p0236, p2237 and p258b) Think he made the last one up. Did not want to just start replacing things and said to wait until something failed. I might just start replacing sensors starting with the O2 sensor.

On the good side he said they noticed my differential sounded loud and order a whole new replacement under their dime. (Thank goodness for the 100,000 mile power train warranty as my 36,000 was up)

Eventually someone will crack this but not today.

The most common reason for no boost is a loose hose and clamp. Faulty or dirty sensor or wire is possible . Also I lost all boost when my hahn blow off valve stuck. It was easily fixed with cleaning the valve out. I do not know if stock blow off valves have a tendency to stick but when my hahn valve stuck i had only 2 lbs boost followed by a engine light. By the way, a simple way to get rid of a engine light is to disconnect the battery then reconnect. This does not get rid of the engine problem . Graywolf

We appreciate the input, but we are past all of the basic troubleshooting.

That's why we are really trying to figure what's going on beyond the basic clamps.
Also we are not trying to clear codes at this point. We want Saturn to see them.
I have an OBD-II reader, so I can do it without pulling the battery.

What Elf said. Butt thanks. Remember also two very important facts.
It is intermittent
It is not happening when hitting it hard and then limp mode, it just happens out of nowhere.

If we can just get one code set instead of multiple or get it to a dealer while it is out, one of use will get an answer. The other hope is it will go from intermittent to just broke. That is what the dealer wants is bring it back when it totally fails.

Went into limp mode again today.
I knew it immediately. Car stumbled when starting from a dead stop.
I looked at the wife and said sob just went into limp mode.
I pulled into a parking lot, popped the hood, disconnected the tmap on the driver side IC pipe then reconnected it.
Problem immediately resolved.
Grr

Hi Elff and chuckdoc, a friend here in Greece has a no boost problem that seems very close to what you describe.
he will go to the dealer tommorow. if they find a soultion or what causes the problem, i will let you know asap.

I scanned for engine codes and had none.
I was on the way to a long trip and didn't have time to not have the car, so I just did my immediate fix. Next time I will leave it in limp mode and get it to the dealer

Dear elff, it turns out it probably isn t the same problem. i told him to disconnect the tmap and connect it again, so he did, but nothing changed. he disconnected the battery, again nothing. he has no boost at all and he swears he hears a suspicious noise coming from inside the turbo... checked for losing pressure from elbows and exhaust-cat..nothing there either.
when i have some news, i will let u know. maybe he finds a solution and that solution may give a clue or something..
again, i am hoping that you solve your problem asap and that u start enjoying your ride over and over again with no troubles in mind!!

thought i should update you. the dealer told my friend that his turbo is damaged (the ring around the turbo has crashed and when it spins, it hits or blocks on the damaged ring)....
he goes for a turbo replacement. unfortunately they don t have a turbo on stock, so he has to wait, God knows for how long...

That's definitely not my problem,

So here is another instance. Because I have an upgraded intake and IC Pipes, and my tune ignores them, does anyone think I could be attempting to flow more air than the tune wants and as such, it occasionally goes into limp?

No cause why would I plus 4 or 5 others on the sky forum have the exact same problem. It just happened to me yesterday. Fine today. I just think either something will eventually not work or we just accept it part of the cars complex personality and the fact that it is a she and problem having a special visit from Aunt Martha.

All seem to have the GMPP tune in common with or without westers mod.

Do you have aftermarket Intercooler Pipes or Intake?

I do know of a couple other people with the same under hood parts I have with the GMPP and have had no issues.
Next time I'm going to try the other Tmap and see if that resolves it.

Just a thought, I know Chuck was one of the early birds on the GMPP, does GM have a newer version of the tune out? To me this sounds like a software thing but I do mechanical design work so I always try to blame software.

Yes, I think I was in the first 10 people. Ordering the day it was available.

No, no stock intercooler and intake.

Really, I am not that frustrated as it only happens once or twice a month. Just part of the personality of the car. I am sure GM knows the answer but we will never find out until something totally breaks.

I am convinced it is a sensor issue, but if there was a change in software from early on, that would be interesting.
