Just a thought but how did they connect up the wires on your new sensors? If they are crimped on you might want to check the connections to make sure that they are secure and not loose or have any corrosion. If you have an intermittent connection that could explain the problems that you are having and how it goes away so easily.

I have the nice fat Blue O-Ring on both sensors and they were slightly oiled as they should be. No Dry rot and a nice snug fit.

Yeah like that but you might want to check and make sure that the butt connector is not just crimped onto insulation only. I have seen our elec techs at work do this many times. The splice is strong because they crimped the hell out of the insulation but it's just luck that there is any electrical connection.

Of course we also have one knuckle head that thinks you can zip-tie a wire too tight and it will cause high resistance, I just tell him he is full of it because what happens is the 1's can make it through just fine its the 0's that get stuck.

I'd have to cut everything and rewire it myself in order to do that. I also think it would fail on a much more regular basis if it wasn't connected properly.

That makes me feel better as I can eliminate the Dejon Products as the problem since you are getting the same thing.

Wow this is eerie
Almost 3 weeks to the day and I am in Limp Mode again.
What sucks is I leave for a business trip tomorrow and have no way of getting the car to the dealer.
Then, the end of next week is the mod meet and I need the car.

Flash on the other board is complaining of detonation and is adding fuel treatments to remove carbon deposits. Someone said that the cam positioner sensor failed on theirs - replacing it solved all their problems. Someone else solved problems similar to yours by replacing the ECM. There just seems to be so many things that can screw up!

On the way home, I hooked up my OBD-II
I didn't have any engine codes but I did have one pending code
P0236 Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

That's the second engine code pointing to a sensor.

Problem is, the code cleared on it's own while driving and the car came out of limp mode.
So now I have nothing to bring to dealer.

Car will sit until friday as I leave for a business trip tomorrow.

Interesting, I have had that code and just today, I through a code but no limp mode. I do not have a reader and things are too hectic to take it anywhere.

Car is like a beautiful woman with an STD. Looks great but what a pain.

On a side note, I have also had my cam shaft actuator replaced. I really think the car is just too complex for anyone to figure out until something actually fails.

Why this happens only to people at mid age

I'm still considered young at 31, right?

Common guys, find the problem to relief us for a worry, if I will start loosing boost I will be mad on you

I'm going to try putting a stock intake back on my car and see what that does.
Problem is, with winter coming up, the car isn't going to be seeing as much drive time, so it might take me longer to have that be a true test.

Kelu, really not that big of a deal, it goes away and comes back. Something will eventually break. I am sure it is a bad sensor or a bad O ring on one of the sensors.

Hit Limp mode tonight.
I immediately hooked up the OBD-II reader and connected Rev to it.
Had the pending code
P0236 Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance
but no engine code.
I hit clear
Punched the gas
Hit 20psi.

So that code is the Limp Mode.
I wonder if an aftermarket tune can turn that off/Ignore, just the like CEL for a catless downpipe.

Anway I love REV and my Wireless OBD-II reader.

Interesting as that is one of the codes I throw. I like the idea of turning it off if possible but as to why it gets set; thats the rub. Maybe 02 sensors or Maf or map as these are the other codes I throw.

I am not sure I am going thru exactly what you all have, but it is similar. I bought the car about 6 weeks ago from an couple that didn't know it had a turbo. She said she had never gone above 65 and he said he never heard the tires squeak. Car had 11K babied miles on it.

I drove the rubber off of it from day one. Hit 21 psi often and occasionally 22. Now, 1500 miles later, all I can get is 15-16 with a RARE 17-18. I have pulled the fuses (42-43 I think), disconnected battery for an hour and no improvement. Seems to be on a steady decline.

Did any of you go thru this on your way to limp mode? I am wondering if I might be headed for the same thing you are going thru?

I saw a reference to the IC mushrooming? What is that and how do I check it?

Seat of the pants dyno testing says the car is much slower, so boost readings seem on par. I do not have any way to read anything from OBD II yet so no further info available at this time.

If any body has any ideas....

I never see more than 16 psi on my analog boost gauge. I've seen the DIC gauge hit 17/18 once or twice in the year I've owned the car.

Guys, forget concentrating on boost. Boost depends on so many factors including weather and barometric
pressure and elevation. Limp mode does not go through gradual stages. It is either there or not.

If your car feels slower, the most common cause in a stock car is clogged catalytic converter.

16 or 17 is normal for a stock car but Uranium you know that.

Jack, if you really feel your car is slower, have the dealer check your cat. and do not pay attention to my occasional limp mode. My car is not stock and I drive it hard.

I know, that was my point. My understanding of limp mode is you'd have zero boost.
