Just out of curiousity, would it be possible to flatten the existing paint on a car?

I noticed while I was waxing the car that I kinda like the non-shiny "suede" look that some of the panels had.

Anyway to do this?

That's cuz they were dirty...

You could probably put a matte clear over the whole thing... really, though, it's more of a PITA to maintain than you would expect... the way that a matte works is that it's rough (at a very small level)... most car care products are designed to help you get a smooth (shiny) surface. any repairs that need to be made are going to show... get a scratch? Well, you won't be able to polish it out, without leaving a shiny spot...

I'd suggest it for either a) show cars or b) car's that you don't car how they look.
