Westers Tune Results

Had a chance to play a bit. As you know I installed Westers Race tune a few days ago on my 2008 GXP. I have the iPhone dyno... not sure how accurate it is... but here's the chart it produced.

The vital stats are:

0-60 MPH 7.70 sec
1/4 mi in 15.85 sec @ 93.1 MPH (my shifting was sloppy and I was worried about cops)
Max speed 94.7 MPH
Peak Horsepower 410 HP!

wrong hp, wrong 1/4 ET (I did 13.5s with my stock Opel GT and only wester's race tune), wrong 0-60 time, everything is wrong.

He didnt state they were accurate??????   
He said he wasn't sure how accurate they were but just posting the numbers he got.
I think he knows there off and maybe tring to figure out how to get them more in line.

The HP numbers in Dynolicious have always been off, but the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are extremely accurate.
They were compared to track equipment and were within .1 second.

The next version of Rev is supposed to be able to determine RWHP and Torque
No word on when it comes out.

Are you sure you calibrated it right? Yeah as others have said the HP is way off but your 0-60 and 1/4 is true on what you did.

Dynolicious may be better than others as it uses an accelerometer that actually senses motion, HP Tuners and Dashhawk use data from the ECM and can be fooled by wheel spin, I did a 0-60 in 3.9 seconds on my Dashawk, moved about 20 feet all total.

LOL... I wasn't saying they WERE accurate at all. I was saying, "Hey look at this, isn't it cool!"

Anyway, it's not even close to a true test since I was on a public road and chicken out before I could get caught. Although it was a country road up north away from the city, it was newly paved and there were no cars around. I still feel nervous doing this, the speed limit is 60km (55mph?) and I was doing close to 100mph... which means IF I'm stopped by a cop I automatically loose my license and they take away the car never to be seen again. They have tough street racing laws here and have even gone as far as impounding cars that show signs of racing mods.

There WAS a yearly hot rod/street racing/autoshow gathering (legit) at the Markham Fair ground each year... and the cops would sit outside the area and follow modded cars as they left and either pull them over and check for mods or follow them until they went over the speed limit enough to pull them over.

So it's serious...

So you see, it's not a fair test of the car or the dyno since I did back down very quickly.

BTW... what drive train loose should I have?

If you have a 5 SPD then I have always use 17%

 There still good I only drive them in winter, and they maybe up for sale soon, they might have 10,000 miles on them. I want the Falkens! Ziex 912's

My original tires lasted about 22k miles. I could get some more life out of them, but they're at the point were they're quite scary in the rain.

I now have the Falkens goat mentioned, and love them. More info to come in soon in my thread over in the wheels and tires section. Finally got a chance to play with some on ramps/twisty roads with the tires.

True, but "Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2" and "Great on the track" should never be used in the same sentence.  :lol:

Maybe road courses are different, but the stock tires are simply horrible for autocross.

I think you could probably safely shorten that to Goodyear and great should never be used in the same sentence.

I didn't mean the goodyears. i just meant balt tires have more traction that ones with tread heh
