photo shop request?
« on: October 03, 2009, 09:16:16 PM »
so flash's onwer tells us the butresses were a design compromise, that the top would have been easier to execute if not for the butress's but once they showed the car with the butresses they were stuck with them

I am wondering what the top would look like without those, can someone erase them and post pic?

if so, thanx in advance

And IMO, it doesn't look that bad without the buttresses. Certainly no worse than any other convertible top on the roads. IMO those building hardtops for these cars really ought to quit worrying about modeling something similar onto them. That way solving the trunk issue is easy.

after the top is up and the trunk is closed, it's the two parts you have to press into the trunk.

so I tried leaving those butress up and stepping back

the problem here is that's not how a butressless top would have been designed, it would have been rounder in the back like other rag tops, look at the z4, the slk, the mazda

ours would have been sleeker and not so bubly since we sit so low in the seat but I am sure it wouldn't have had that sharp turn where the back window was

I wonder if flash's owner could get copies of concepts drawings while they were considering the car sans butress

seems to me the more interest in this car the better off gm is and they might be happy to supply
