Ok, two quick questions, neither of which are a big deal in the grand scheme of things,

First- do all the turbo'd cars run really hot?  :f: I can just turn the climate control knob to red without any fan and the interior will be roasting!  I turned the actually heat on once and thought I was in a sauna!  :f: :f: :f: :f: I know that the turbo will make it run hotter, but this is amazing!  Anytime the top is up (not often) the climate control knob has to be all the way to blue to keep from cooking me.  Even the Misses never turns towards the red.  And she is like most, always cold!

Second, the stock tires are really chirpy!  Eagle F1's on stock rims.  Low throttle turns always make chirps, and it is not spinning of the tires, it even happens when we are coasting around a turn.  To answer the first question everyone is going to ask, yes I have checked the pressure.  32 psi all around.  I have not gotten to adjusting handling via tire pressure yet, so for now, I keep them the same.  Was just wondering if others had that with the stock tires.  I know there are lots of opinions about the quality of the tires, I am not looking to  :worms:, just wondering if others had the same talkative tires.

Stock tires should be at 29 cold may be part of the problem. 32 is like 38 hot. Yes they run warm, one way to cool it turn on recurculate, it will kick in the compressor but it blocks the warm air from the engine.

Nope, they would still squeak at 29 psi when I had them on my car.

They're just lousy tires.

Jack, the tires really are not real grippy. Think they suck NOW? Wait for cold weather - they turn to stone. As for how quickly the cabin heats and cools, the HVAC system is straight out of a Hummer H3. JUST a bit over sized for a two passenger compartment. The UP side of that is our Canadian owners will stay warm in the winter while staying cool in the summer for the rest of us !!

That's the beauty of it!  You can go out in the snow with the top down, crank up the fan and heat and you're toasty :drive:

About the tires - see the thread I started on "why 29 psi".  Yes, the tires are very chirpy but this goes away as the pressure goes up.  I am currently running 33 psi.

I will drop the psi and test, maybe it makes a difference.  The tire wear is very even and the previous owner was very OCD about the car.  He checked his tire pressure every Saturday while having his morning coffee (no joke, that's what his wife told us when we went to look at the car!)  He has had the tires at 32 PSI the whole time (11K miles) - anyway, I will give different pressures a try, but my thoughts are that the tires are just sqweekkyyyyyyy.  It's ok, I will have them melted soon enough....  Then I get to start asking what the best tire is... :worms:


As for the heat- while it may be great for the Canadian / Northern US folks, it is rough here in the Southwest!  I may have to take a trip to some far away land where it snows and freezes just to test the top down heat on theory.  Alaska here I come!   :drag:

Look inside your driver's door panel, it will tell you what the tire pressure should be for stock tires.

Have you tried recalibrating the heater controls for your Waaaaaaaaay too hot heater?  If not try this:

When replacing an air temperature, mode, recirculation actuator or the HVAC control assembly, the following calibration process needs to be performed:

Important: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control assembly during self-calibration. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

1) Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.

2) Turn the Temperature dial all the way to the right.

3) Turn the blower control dial all the way to the right.

4) Turn the mode position dial all the way to the left.

5) Simultaneously press and hold the A/C and Defrost buttons until the LED's start to flash.

6) Once the LED's stop flashing, calibration is complete.
