2kwk4u, that looks great.  I am still thinking about the heated seats but the dash is fantastic.

Yesterday I installed the new license plate, the stubby 'g' antenna, and the wife drove it to a birthday party with the 4 y/o.  Today, I am going to fill it up, and put it away again for another winter weather stretch, thank God for the warm up so we could do more than look at it in the pole barn.

Thanks, doc.  I still have some tweaking to do.  The needles don't quite match one another.

Got my tomato soup-colored headlight covers/eyelids back from the paint shop today.  :yay:

Think I'll leave them a while for the paint to harden before I mount them, but here's a photo meanwhile. IMO I think these will be a much better effect than painting the insides of the lights black...

Took it out for a 2 hour top-down romp through western Howard/Carroll Counties.  Roads still wet in may places so it was a bit of a cautious romp , but much better than all the commuting nonsense I had been limited to.  Had a blast!  :dancing:

Dropped it off to have the replacement clear bra installed, and some stripes, hope I like the stripes.

So that's kinda interesting.  Do they put the stripes on first and then the clear-bra?  Or the clear-bra on first?

In either case, how's the transition from vinyl-on-paint to vinyl-on-vinyl gonna work?  I.e. how will they overcome the tenting effect at the boundary line?

(I ask because I would like to do stripes too, but already have the clear-bra on.)

OK I will 'splain it, I was going to have the clear bra over the stripes, made sense to me. Then I decided to get matte finish stripes, he told me if I did that the matte finish would become shiny, so we are doing the stripes over the bra. Yes it will be a bumble bee. They will be dual stripes with pin stripes down each side so a total of 6 stripes 2 wide and four very narrow. He is going to run it all the way down the front down to the lower lip, even going to do the part behind the seats that is already painted yellow. all the way down the back. The guy doing them was recommended by the insurance company and I asked the body shop about him, he is supposedly the best guy in this area. Does store fronts and semi's - Zebra Stripes

Chuck, I'm going to be installing mine with the switch in the tulip panel on the door, the piece in front of the handle.  They are going in this weekend.

I installed my TUNED ECM!  YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Roads were wet, so I had to be a little cautious, plus the misses was with me.  What a difference.  In a few more drives / miles my learn should be complete.  I hope to have dyno results before / after prior to MMM7 for "show and tell"

I can't wait to get out on the open road...  but first, and oil change this weekend.

Looks like we have similar plans! I also plan of fixing a small coolant leak I've been tracking for a while...hopefully this will be the last one!

Today I purchased 5 quarts of Mobil 1, and a 50/50 jug of Dexcool. First time I've seen it outside of a dealership, so I had to buy it, prediluted or no.
2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 Crew Cab, LM7 4L60E (What I traded my Kappa for. I regret nothing.)
2012 Chevy Camaro 2SS RS LS3 TR6060.

2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 3.6, manual trans.

U if you didn't live just past BFE you would have seen it before, they have it at Walmart in the big city. Remember DO NOT REMOVE THE CAP with car hot and not running, BIG MISTAKE it will suck air into the system, been there done that.

Well the bumblebee is back home, new clear bra and stripes, as I was told this guy is good. The bra is installed 10 times better than when the dealer did it, and the stripes look great. Still thinking on the front may change them a bit they go all the way down to the bottom lip. The back looks amazing. He told me you should always put the stripes OVER the clear bra, if you don't it makes the bra "tent" just a little and dirt will get under the bra and look like ASS. He did the stripe on the windshield surround and on the yoke behind the seats looks fantastic with the top down. Next weekend the great stereo install adventure at Joe's Garage might be a 2 day event, a ton of work to do.

Where'd you find the coolant?

They have it at Advance  for $12 a gallon, it's made by Prestone and has the GM logo on the jug Prestone Dex-Cool Extended Life Antifreeze Coolant Af888. Shell makes a version, Texaco, makes a version, Chevron makes a version. They are all Prestone, just like the stuff from the dealer is Prestone. GM doesn't make antifreeze they make cars.

That's the stuff, and yes I found it at Advance Auto Parts. First time I've ever seen it there, and I stop by once a month or so.
