Got my ride out of the shop yesterday and when I went to pick it up, the manager said they noticed one night while putting the car away that the car with a blue glow underneath and couldn't figure out how to turn them off so they pulled the plug to it.
Hmm, the box is hidden behind the brake booster so to know where it was to unplug it meant they spotted the light kit while it was on the lift, followed the wires an played with the buttons on it. You can't turn it on without touching something.
I told the manager it was no big deal, they had to have pressed the buttons and couldn't figure out how to turn it off. When I started the car, the CEL came on. I used the dashhawk to identify the codes.
It popped the cooling fan circuit.
Now I know from when my son tried to use his car to jump someone elses that he used both metal posts on the fuse panel thinking one was ground and the other positive. No so, he blew the fan circuit fuse and popped a CEL.
So know I suspected that in their messing with the lights and killed my battery and they had to jump the car to get it started. You'd think they would know how to jump a car. But with the CEL, I knew they did the same thing my sone did. Checked the 60A fuse and it was blown.
I hadn't left the shop yet, called the manager and told him he needed to find me a 60A fuse so I don't over heat on the way home and asked if they had jumped the car. He said he didn't know. I told him what had happened. Fuse replaced and I'm out of there.
Drove home with the top down and today I drove to work with the top down. a bit chilly, high 50s but none the less, it was great to have my wheels back.
