Yesterday Reed came over and we (he) prepped the top for treatment...

This morning while waiting for the sun to come out I put shiny stuff on the wheels. 'Cause who doesn't like shiny stuff????

Just got back from a test drive after installing a GM CAI...wow. Zero performance increase, to be sure, however the sound made it worth every cent! Never would have bought it just for the sound, and still wouldn't, but it really is fun having a car that really sounds like a turbo car.

Just looked at it since I can't get more than 12 psi on a good day.  Turbo bypass valve on back order for 2.5 weeks now.  Bummer.

I also install a CAI on my 08 NA. I got it off of ebay far 51 dollars. It did not have a brand name on it. So I guess it is just brand X. It does look good and few pounds less than the stock air box.

Today I washed, clay barred, and waxed my GXP using exclusively PoorBoy products.  Great results, as always.

Soldered the connectors on my GMPP Stage 1 sensors.  Didn't help.  Still only getting 12 psi max.  After a mile or so max psi drops to 5.

The following happened to me yesterday/today: http://www.kappaperformance.com/forum/index.php?topic=4895

During and since this, I've been reading the P0101/P0106 posts.  In summary:

1) Check charge-air intake hoses and hose clamps
2) Check your intercooler hasn't ballooned or cracked
3) Check your gas tank purge check valve and hose
4) Check PCV valve connection is not cracked (where it enters the air filter housing)

Good luck!

I have done #1 and #2.  Is #3 the same as the fuel tank pressure sensor?  That was replaced by the dealer when they discovered the turbo bypass valve faulty (now on back order).  I will check #4 tonight or tomorrow.  Thanks for the help.

Soldered the 3-bar sensors on the wifes redline and took it for a 50 mile drive with nary a hiccup so maybe we got one of 'em back to working properly!  Was hitting and holding 25 psi.  Never the less it didn't seem to be making as much power as it should have.  Didn't stop me from beating down a WRX-sti.  Of course her ambient air temp gauge was reading 111/113 degrees!  Her coolant temp was as high as 235 degrees.  Does that seem to be near the danger point?  That was in city driving at 45 mph or less.  On the highway it would drop back to 205 degrees.

The bad news if it's fixed is I have two 3-bar sensors going to be delivered Monday.  The good news is I guess I have some spares for the future!

Installed Innovative LM-1 wife band 02. Snugged up the Kappasphere exhaust closer to the chassis by bending the hangers downward, well crafted muffler. Installed front air dam under radiator since it was missing from under there. Got a nice little dual pod gauge holder to mount between the diagnostic port and the fog light switch.

I took off the driver side fender so I could grease the VDI hinge
What a Pain in the @$$.
Fortunately I had 4 different size tips for the grease gun.
The nipple for the main grease point is blocked by the shock and 3 out of the 4 tips I had were too long and didn't allow me to get a good seal to grease that point.
So what should have been a real quick and easy maintenance procedure, turned out to take alot longer than expected.
But....
Driver side is smooth and quiet once again

I brought my car home from the body shop and washed her. She will go back as soon as the new hood arrives.
