I'm buying those same tires tomorrow. I know, never trust a salesman, but he did say that they're stickier than the Falkens I've got. I thought he was going into shock when I told him that I autocrossed the Falkens...

What are you paying for yours?

I paid
$159   245 45-18
$180   265 40-18

With no shipping charges

What?!?  Those tires suck.  You kidding me!!!   ... Congrats.

Thanks, I did a whole lot of research and for the price I wanted to pay they seemed like the best deal.  I'm glad to see you guys have them too!

They seem to be more predictable than the stock.  To me the stock tires didn't seem to give any warning before they let go.  I have more confidence with the Hankook's.  And as a bonus (for me anyway) they don't squeel like a stuck pig when you spin 'em at a light.  I hated that high pitch the stocks had!  But I know some people like to hear it.

Seriously, just about anything (other than RSA's) will be better than stock. Will be interesting to see how these compare to the Falkens.

That's a decent price. I am having mine shipped to my mechanic who quoted me $15 for mounting and balancing (the tires) and he said there is a standard $2.50 per tire disposal charge (I think, I could be wrong, it may be a NY thing).

They seem to be more predictable than the stock.  And as a bonus (for me anyway) they don't squeel like a stuck pig when you spin 'em at a light.  I hated that high pitch the stocks had!  But I know some people like to hear it.

I hate the stock tires. Driving in the rain SUCKS!

I know what you mean about the squeeling tires. We have a construction crew widening the roads by us. I have been squeeling tires daily - I think they think I do it for attention, but I swear it's just the car!

Pity.  Two great tastes that go great together.

I'm hoping to see tangible progress by Labor Day.  At this point, we're just waiting on the insurance company to come up with their numbers.  I was in the house this evening (when I should've been sleeping) for the first time in a few weeks just walking around looking at stuff then brainstorming decorating ideas.  It'll be badass when it's done, but that's a long way down the road.

Back closer to on topic, it looks like we'll be keeping and fixing up the detached 20'x24' garage instead of razing it like I'd originally intended.  No lift or anything incredibly awesome, but it should end up being worthy of storing my car.

Well so much for that...couldn't even get into this tire place, car is lowered and there was a pretty high ridge to go over. Will likely just buy tires off discounttire or tirerack.

Well that sucks!  Maybe some 2x4's to get over the ridge?

Allow me to introduce you to the organized part of my brain. I should probably be embarassed to share this...

I did the research. As of Wednesday those were the prices...

I went with discount tire. (I should mention that they match competitor's prices after tax and shipping has been added, so they pretty much work out the same.) Shipping prices are to Long Island, NY.

Wednesday I ordered a spare set of wheels, they have been discontinued and down to 70 bucks.  They arrived today, and went straight out to the shed

I've dealt with discount tire before, my current set of Falkens came from them. Great company to do business with.

Thing is I'm still toying the with the idea of buying Star Specs...

I'm leaning towards the Star Specs as well unless something better comes along before I need to buy.
