I can understand the clutch, but what happened to the tranny?  I thought that the Aisin 5 speed was indestructible in our cars!

Nope. There have been a few transmission failures. Can't pinpoint the cause in any of the cases. Originally, I couldn't downshift into 4th. Then it became 3rd and 4th. Next, it started grinding 2nd gear. At that point I knew I needed a swap and decided to get the stage 3 clutch as well. I'm also curious if the Aisin AY-6 would be a better fit for me now that I have so much power. I'd like to have that 6th overdrive gear to have a little better fuel economy on the highway.

Finished my paint, for now:

I have some ideas for the fuse box cover, and I'm thinking the air cleaner cover needs some color too.

I also have a feeling this modding wont end soon! :D

Washed the Kappa for the first time; learned some of the tricks like the weeping wing mirrors, taillights, reverse lights, ducktail spoiler, and various spots around the windows/top. Learned the hard way not to dry the top with a white towel ...

Wife cleaned the adhesive left from the window tint; passenger side only for now.

Do those chromed wheels have a coating ?  They got spots on the spoke leading edge that regular cleaners couldn't remove.  The exhaust tips have various spots on the inside lip; I'm going to see if they can be claimed under warranty. Maybe the wheels too :)

The door sill plate on the passenger side buckled again.  Driver side is fine.

Also, I notice a slight idle fluctuation; no CEL.  The GMPP stage kit was installed Thursday.  Any connection ?

This car is definitely coming back to the dealer.

The chrome will take lots of elbow grease and specialty wheel cleaner followed by wax and a buffer  :2c:

Install of DDm column mount complete with oil temp and oil pressure gauge. Also remounted Boost controller gauge with wires coming out of the mini speaker spot onto dashboard next to column. Looks great! Also completed DDm puke can [catch can] install. replaced all lug bolt with ARP bolts, required cutting the smooth tips off on all twenty bolts to be able to use closed lug nuts. Remounted battery on/off switch next to battery, required fabricating a new mount brachet for switch. Replacement of HPS Hawk brake pads complete, did not replace brake lines because performance autowerks sent me the wrong parts. I used Motul600 fluid. Car was trailered to dealer to replace diff and manual trans fluids with redline.

I dry my top with a micro fiber cloth.    The inside of the exhaust can be cleaned up with 000 steel wool and soap.  The fluctuation may be because the tune not being installed properly.  get about 100 miles or so on it and see if it has any other issues before you take it back.

Go-N Def says you can get the spots of the chrome rim with some pro-polish or some mild scratch and swirl remover.

Use these products from Poorboy's World and it will save you time:

Chenille Microfiber Wash Mit

Soft & Absorbant Waffle Weave Drying Towel for the whole car including the top.  You can also use an electric leaf blower to dry it.

Super Swirl Remover 1 and Professional Polish 2 with a Flitz Ball (Not PBW) for the wheels and with steel wool for the exhaust tips followed by Wheel Sealant.

Son of a  .... it's currently 14F here (-8 low tonight)... :gaah:   I just washed the car because it is a sunny day. It was a nice day yesterday too, I was skating out back with just a t-shirt on. Top remains up though :(

Yesterday I punched out the driver side door latch (I just started noticing a bit of noise - I think there was a thread on this here or on the big board, I changing it up a bit and punched from under and behind the latch pin so you can't see the punch marks. I checked for air in the cooling lines, and reattached my hahn bov to recirculate.  Boost is holding at 23 psi. Let's see if this has much impact on my mpg.

In terms of your tune....tunes need to "learn in".  That can take up to 100 miles, as the computer will relearn your driving style.  During this time, the engine can idle oddly for brief periods of time.  I wouldn't think it's something to worry about now, but definitely keep an eye on it if it continues past 100 miles with the new tune.

Let your convertible top air dry in a warm place.

Everyone else is correct...the chrome takes a lot of elbow grease to get clean...so instead of cleaning them, I just ditched them and got new wheels that were black:)

Made 4 sets of Lambo door supports today and went for drive top down, 43 degrees.  Thank god for the heated seats!!!
It's stupid question time! Could you explain the use of the Lambo door supports, are you selling them and have you ever made support assist for the engine hood struts ? (to prevent being blow shut in a strong wind) Dave at DDM suggested this so the hood would not slam down on my open Lambo doors. Thanks!

The Lambo door support rods are for driving in a parade with the Lambo doors up.  It's a very cool design considering my pops made them from a strait rod.

Can you post a picture? Crappy install or collision damage or some other damage?

I think it's none of those.

The way I understand them is the metal/plate insert (the one with "SOLSTICE" script) is too long for the plastic indent the insert sits in.  When the car went back to the dealer, both sides were buckled.  I'm thinking someone didn't account for thermal expansion/contraction during the design process.

I'll try to take a picture.

I pat-dried the top and the white towel still left lint.  I'll get a black towel, I don't mind adding the fuzziness to the top material :D  I'll run a lint remover.
