Stupid question. I have 49k miles on my car and have never done anything to the engine. The dealer and book do not have any recommendations for "real" maintenance until 100k miles. Any recommendations?

I was thinking about changing spark plugs, and obviously checking belts and hoses.

What about motor mounts? I have heard these can be troublesome on occasion, I have looked in the maintenance manual and understand their location, only quesiton is, are they difficult to get to? is it worth the time and money to get them check also?

To keep this what I did today, I drove in to work and hoping the heavy fog burns off so I can wash my car this afternoon. LOL!!!

factory spark plugs are supposed to live about 80K miles. it wouldn't be a bad idea to change them though, if you don't mind spending the money. or at least have them checked.

Cleaned the MAF sensor and the K&N filter. Car seems to be running smoother.

Drove it to work again with the top down, 70 degrees.  I haven't changed the plugs yet and I'll roll over 70,000 miles on the way home.  Still running great on the Westers Tune since 5k miles.

Played a bit with the Kappa. 

My mechanic told me that the electrical connector for the cooling fan is resting on the LV bar (he was replacing the fan for the second time due to a faulty control module; can't replace the module alone).  So I tweaked the control module (rotated it down to max) and pushed the bar backward all the way.  That gave me a couple millimeters but I could see daylight between them.  I think that will work.

Then I saw that the Dejon IC pipe (cold side) was rubbing in a couple places.  Pulled it toward the back, rotated it relative to the manifold connector, zip ties, and put rubber trim around the edges on airbox bracket and hood hinge bracket.

I feel better now

If it is a mark on the top, the rubbing takes place when the hood is closed and it hits the hood hing on the front edge, you need to to loosen the clamp on the front of the IC and shove the pipe farther into the rubber so that it sits lower.  that will stip it from rubbing.

Yeah, got my replacement new black headlight from Crate (all four mounting taps are present), and shipped back the defective one their dime.  Started claying & polishing the vert, will follow-up with Best of Show wax.   The Griotsgarage polisher is making the task so much easier. 

Also ordered more micro fiber towels, polish, new-car interior scent, and  leather interior scent.

Can't do that, the bottom of the pipe bend is already pretty close to the airbox bracket.

The front edge of the airbox bracket under the pipe needs to be cut off to allow the pipe to site lower.

Or just don't use the brackets on the ic pipe at all.

Already did.  Well, I had to trim down the back edge.  I was talking about the steel bracket below the plastic "lip" that needed trimming.

My Dejon pipe doesn't have any bracket, whether welded or otherwise.  I also removed all the bracketry associated with the stock IC pipe.

A couple days ago my GXP got real loud. Took it to the muffler shop. The passenger side tail pipe had pulled out of the clamp connecting it to the muffler. much quieter now.

 No. I guess my muffler bearings needed greasing. My blinker fluid is up to the mark on the blinker dipstick.

Actually it sounds as your muffler bearings were over greased thereby reducing the emodial coefficient. Glad you aren't having problems with the blinker fluid. A leak in that system isn't good.
