I have seen a very nice set of projector lights for the Solstice, they really looked good on the car, like it should have been made that way, but they are a pain to get done and you have to send in your headlights and it takes forever. They are also EXTREMELY expensive.

I found a site that does them for a couple of the other Pontiac's, like the GTO they are $442 complete plug and play, you do not have to send in you headlights. Here is a picture of what they did with the GTO lights. These would take about 10 minutes to install and could easily be converted to HID if you wanted. They do them with both black and chrome surrounds, and they come with Halo's. I did write them but figured maybe I would test the waters to see who may want a set.

Ours might look something like these, I would love to have separate hi and low beams like the Sky

Looks interesting, let me know what you find out. Thanks for looking into this. And that set up looks like it would take care of the parking and turn signal for you if you got the front end.

I have a new set of lights in my garage Ive been holding on to to do a retrofit but havent had the cash to spend on it. Id love premade ones pending they are legit HID projectors. Id prefer no halos and if they can jam the signal into the light I would love to relocate it and replace my fogs with some bad ass flood lights for "off-road" use.

Forget projectors, HID's and the like. When is comone going to come up with those lights point in the direction your tires are turned, like some European cars have? I live on a road with a major turn, and it sucks not being able to tell if there's a deer in the middle of the road there or not.

Cool, perhaps with the Audi LED strip across the front? I did see NolanB's and they looked sharp. I can't rem if he had halos installed also.

If and when I get a reply from them I will use the inputs from the poll. These are non HID units, but for $100 you can convert them easily, and HID's work much better with projectors. I am inclined to believe they will come with the Halo's as most want them, you do not have to hook them up.

Yes Bryan's do have Halo's, we have done two runs where he drove behind me, he has them hooked to his DRL's and they look great, they are not obnoxious but you can easily see them. He has a single projector with the Halo around it, not sure what the end product would be. We don't need the turn signals in the headlights, but I thing it would be great to have them there and turn the fog lights into just fog lights, I hate our turn signals.

U-238 you just need a hood mounted deer rifle with a laser sight, wouldn't be long before no more problem. Those movable lights are cool but I can't imagine what they would cost to retrofit.

By the way they have released the dual bulb dual HID bulbs for the HID H13 replacements, they are about $100 on Amazon. No more silly moving bulbs.

I would want a pair if they have seperate high beam and low beam projectors, and possibly a turn signal. I don't want anything else in the housing. If not then I will build it when I have the time cause they are only about 550 to buy the material and do yourself this way.

You said the GTO's are 450~ then add 100 thats already 550 what you can build it yourself for and you might end up getting higher craftsmanship depending on your skill. Never seen anything from carid and I am not saying their craftsmanship is bad either.

Search for vacuum forming shrouds on youtube. its not hard to build the table used for it, but seems only beneficial if you do a bunch of things like this. This is what the guy on here does to get the sols shrouds made.

Pricey yes, but that's what a proper hid setup costs especially when someone does it for you. If you want to build a set your self for the lowest amount possible you can easily find used bixenon projectors for around $125 or new for $170, aftermarket d2s bulbs/ballasts for $50, some shrouds for $50 and do the work yourself. Do it right the first time.

Thank you Mr. Negative, not all of us care about HID's or have the inclination to build it ourselves, you knock a product that does not yet exist. They might make them with HID's but I don't want them. They don't impress me, unless they are factory.

in for bi-xenon HID projector assemblies. my gf had this sort of setup w/ her acura tsx (i think?) and it is head an shoulders above any other HID assembly i've seen for lighting (including other acuras like the mdx - which has a halogen high beam).

Im not knocking anyone's product, those headlights will work as they should with regular halogen bulbs, throw in an hid kit into them and you'll get lackluster results as with any halogen headlight.
Oh and those lights are $200 on ebay.

The tsx has one of the best hid projectors out there, second only to the s2000 projectors which are pretty expensive. I was thinking of using the tsx projector in my retrofit but i didn't want to give up the high beam since its only a low beam projector.

I just spoke with Justin from Car ID, he told me he will bring it up to management, he called the company that makes them and we at least know it can be done, how much is still a question. The lights can not be sold as HID's they have to comply with DOT regs, but he told me all there headlight kits are HID ready, meaning they use HID projector kits and stick halogen lights in the to comply with DOT. I sent him the link to this poll and asked for a few other things as well, but that is a different poll. He told me we most likely won't hear anything until after the Holidays.

Is there any actual science (like aiming) done with these, or are they just jamming sockets into the space that fits where our lights go?

I like the idea of this in general, but in practice the lights I've seen have frankly been crap. I spent a ton of cash for similar units for another car I own and the results were LAUGHABLY poor.

I got an email back from the guys at CarID.

"I appreciate all your guys interest in this project. I am working on compiling all your input and presenting it to the big guys. Any continued support will help make this easier and possibly get this moved up on the list. Thank you and I hope to hear from you guys some more."

amo I sent them an e-mail also , and mentioned the interest in the Blackened 09 headlight housings told them through GM are very costly
