Crit, Got the answer, thanks. I am an :idiot: 27mm bushings and brackets. See you at the Meet.  :poke: Giving it some SERIOUS consideration to saying forget it and just buying a whole GXP Z0K package and installing it at this point... Hmmm...

Critter,
What are some of the main differences you felt going from the stock suspension to the coilovers?

This is going to be another expensive mod meet, but wayyyy worth it...if the lady can buy $200 rain boots and $600 hand bags, then I can buy coilovers...and seats...and brakes...ok I have a problem.

Unfortunately I did the coil overs and a more aggressive alignment.  I can tell you what the combination does.

Makes the car handle totally different, the ride is a bit harsher depending on where you have the shocks set.  But at the same time you can control over and understeer to a degree with the shocks.   When I drive on the street I have them more neutral, when I AutoX I have them set for oversteer, so I can control the car by the gas petal.

Hope that helps

Oh yeah, can we add the red thingys that I won at the last meet.  You know the things that go on the end of the tubes under the engine lift up cover.

In a word NO

The red ones are definitely out of the question if it were the green ones well then maybe but not the red ones.  However if your talking about the pipe like devices not the tubes then yeah the red ones can be installed.

Let's be sure we don't half-ass it.  It drives me crazy to see guys simply let the winter air out and put fresh air in from the compressor and think that's good enough.

To do it right, we have to first be sure all the winter air is out of Joe's COMPRESSOR!  Most people forget all about that.  Secondly, the only way to get ALL the winter air out of your tires is going to be to dismount them from the rims and rinse them from the inside-out.

Very much so....thank you.  Mine is more for street driving, and I will probably keep the ride height about the same so I don't need an alignment.

You should get an alignment even if you don't lower the car. It'll handle better.

I spoke with Dave and he said that if I keep it at the same ride height, I didn't need one.

I disagree, I've found that to really get the winter air out you first have to deflate the tires then take it for a high speed run.  The tires warm up really fast, thus causing the winter air to expand and evaporate rapidly causing a sudden decrease in pressure inside the tire.  In order to reach a state of equilibrium, the summer air (being that it is more dense) rushes in and quickly fills the void.
