Trunk thunk
« on: January 24, 2010, 07:51:57 PM »
Since it has gotten cold, when I close my trunk lid, I hear an extra thunk about halfway down.  It seems to be coming from the hinge area, but I can't quite place it.  When I took it in for an oil change and to install the GMPP tune, they could not get it to happen to them.  I wondering if that is because by then the car had warmed up inside the garage and this may be a cold temperature thing.  I can't see that anything bad is happening, but it worries me.  Has anyone else had this?

We've had lots of thunks, but that sounds like a new one to me. Good luck figuring it out. Let us know what you find.

Trunk monkeys?

That would be my son - oh, that's right, I don't put him in the trunk!

Lift-spring moving/slipping? - Any ideas how to check this out?  I don't see anything obvious but haven't taken things apart yet either.  Not sure I want to by myself.
