BOV Install Possible??
« on: February 06, 2010, 11:51:41 PM »
Dave and Randy,
I really want the sound of an aftermarkey BOV in my car.  I love the Synapse Synchronic BOV, and I was wondering if you could make it work with the IC pipes you installed in my car.  Is there a blow-through mode that will work and not cause any engine instability or stuttering?

Steve you need to leave that Black pariah alone, if it is running don't mess with, it gets mad every time you do and you know it.

LOL that's kinda true, but at that point nobody had a solution for a BOV.  I saw a video online of a Solstice with one and he said it runs perfectly.  Possibly Dave and Rady have figured out how to run one without an issue?

Just move the MAF element to the cold side pipe, before the BOV of course, and modify the MAF Frequency table to get the proper LTFT and STFT.

I'm sure Lyndon could do this for me in order to have the BOV work.  Dave and Randy could relocate the MAF for me.  I hope they chime in here and tell me if it is worth it.

You need to get yourself the shabby pipe from btf, its 3" in diameter and has a flange for the maf and bov.
Tuning it is pretty straight forward but to get the fuel trims in spec it takes a while.

I can see the potential in Kelu's video.  Park by the lake, drop the top, rest the shotgun on the top of the windshield, and call them pesky ducks right to you by revving the engine.  Now if these cars only had room for the "trunk retriever" you'd be all set.

Steve,

As shabby pointed out, we would need to make a 3" tube for you to go from the intercooler to the engine with a MAF location, a blow off valve mount and a mount for the Tmap sensor. On your automatic and with a stock turbo, I really do not see a strong case for it though, unless you really want to add the blow off valve duck call ;)

HA HA no thanks:)  That's almost as funny as the thing you plug into your cigarette lighter and it makes the exhaust sound like a V8 or V10.
