To me is working pretty same, uploaded lots of big pictures last night and worked nicely. I don't complain, I'm just offering feedback.

hit and miss, sometimes the first page accessing the site is slow, sometime going to a message is slow, put most of the times it is fine, which is the case more often than not

Ok, I've upgraded the server hosting to allow for more concurrent connections.  That is what the problem was.   It will be applied in the next few hours.

Sounds like we may need some more supporting members, maybe even lifetime members who have access to all the secret forums.......

Well, still getting the problems... again this morning (~11am).  I use Firefox with Adblock and given the earlier comments, I tried disabling Adblock, but that had no effect.  Meanwhile, other sites were working fast as normal - I loaded the "new posts" link off the Solstice forum in another tab and managed to load it and many thread links off that page in the time it took to load one thread post here.

I very much doubt this is a concurrent user issue - seems more like a server issue.  Hope this provides fodder for your trouble ticket, Joe.

It was extremely slow this morning, after it finally loaded a "new posts" screen, I clicked on one of the topics, and it took somewhere between 2 - 3 minutes to load the thread.

Sorry, but I leave to go to one of the other Kappa sites when this happens, which is all too often.  :gaah: :idk:

I had the slow page load/web site unavailable thing last night.  When I finally was able to get a page load there were only 14 people logged on to the forum and that was members and guests.

ok, this sucks since I just dumped money that probably wasn't necessary.  I'll setup another trouble ticket.

Maybe Go Daddy had some server problems this morning.
I think the change Joe did will work fine once Go Daddy's site becomes stable.
Joe you should not deprive your self of the advertising revenue, I think is more the Go Daddy site servers having issues.

Data point: Still getting a slow response, ~16secs just now to start painting the page.  Next refresh was immediate though.

I would tend to think it's not the Ads, just because the worst delays seem to happen on initial page load (before anything is displayed). That's just a theory though.

I've been getting a "Waiting" message on the Blackberrys which forces the mobile version. Page uploads after less than half minute. There are no ads or pictures on the mobile version.

Everyone clear your cache and start fresh, see what happens.   I had to log in fresh from home after an update and not having any issues so far.

DBG: It's not the ads. Right now it is plenty quick, with only a slight delay before the page starts to load. The page load is nearly instantaneous on my network.

When it slows down however, it becomes painfully, dreadfully slow. Usually I'll get a timeout from Firefox with a message that the server is too slow to respond.

It's spotty, which makes it really tough to diagnose.

Good luck.
