Topic: engine always running rough

I have an 07 redline with 12k miles on it. its bone stock. I have had issuses with it running poorly but no codes. also it feels a bit slow. it is hitting 14psi max and dropping down to about 12-13 near redline. I read a post similar to my condition so I unplugged my purge solenoid. the code for it showed up on my second start. but after I unplugged it the car runs smoother and dosnt try to stall everytime i put it in first at a redlight it feels like I have more low end toruqe now. What could be the main issue? I dont want to drive with the cel on forever but Im not going backwards.

Just a guess...Could be your catalytic converter.

But why would unplugging my evap purge solenoid fix the issue?

I agree with bad cat, there were quite a few of these in 2007.  I also had a similar problem with rough idle and it turned out to be the cam shaft actuator however it did not effect boost.  Eventually you will throw a code.

Ok well I wanted to go catless anyways but is there a service buletin out on it I don't want to deal with the usual dealership run aroud

Coverage for the converter and Powertain Control Module is 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first. Shouldn't be an issue at the dealership.

How do they check the cat? And I called they want me
to being it up to them and hey will alia see if there are any recalls on it.

They check the cat by doing a back pressure test. There aren't any recalls of the cats that I am aware of. It is however a common problem and not with the Solstice. All manufacturers have problems with cats as they all are of similar design.

I won't be able to bring the car in for about two weeks. Until then I'm goin to leave the purge solenoid unplugged. Is there anything else I can do before then
