P0101 - MAF: RESOLVED
« on: March 28, 2010, 03:58:34 PM »
This is an addendum to "ABS light / service esc / service traction" post.

When the above first happened, I threw a MAF code.  What are the chances that the increased boost pressure of the tune blew one of the DDM T-bolt clamps?  I have been waiting on a replacement clamp from DDM for a bit now as I think one of the ones in the bag was not quite right.  I installed it, same as all the rest, but it wouldn't tighten enough.
Anyway, could that throw a MAF code?  I thought the code everyone got from the hoses popping off was the "bank one lean" code (something like that?) not the MAF code.
Just wanted to check.  If it is the hose coming loose, than I will just keep the stock tune in until I recieve my new clamp and see what happens.  I don't see any signs of the hose coming loose, but that doesn't mean under full throttle that some air isn't escaping.

Thoughts?

The DDM clamp on the hose to the throttle body fit well for me.  But by the intercooler, they seemed to be too big.  DDM said it was normal to have to tighten it down completely but I was a bit skeptical when I did it and did not do the other side.  But, it has not budged....

Has it blown off for you? If not, it's probably holding.  Look and see if it has moved at all.

Same here Treeman.  Throttle body and that whole left side (all 4) fit great.  The two on the right were a bit suspect.  I am going to have to wait to figure out the other issue with the stock tune in, then put the other tune back in and do some testing.  I plan to mark the tube with a sharpie and do a few hard runs, see if it's moving.  Hoping the clamp gets here first, then I don't have to worry :)

I threw this pending engine code twice today.
I have t-bolt clamps and have pulled everything apart and put it back together again 3 times now.

What Tune do you have?
Do you have aftermarket IC Pipes and/or Air Intake?

I think we need to do a poll of the following:
Tune (it does not matter who's the vendor)
Aftermarket IC pipes.
Intake is no longer the stock OEM.
Have you had any codes?

Tunes -- Westers
I/C & Intake Pipes -- Hai -- Fajita
High Flow Cat (also a variable that may count)
Codes -- Transient only, once in a while).  Like a pain that goes away, I've never had it diagnosed.

Looks like they came up with the answer. Just install T-Clamps from DDM.

Dick

Maybe for this code, the T-Clamps might work. This is the first and only time I got this one.
I am getting codes for the 3 bar sensors about once a month as well.
I am going to re splice all of the wiring and replace both of the bosch sensors.  I found a place that sells them.
It's just some guessing, but this way I know the electrical is good, and have replaced hardware.
It knocks some stuff off the possible list of culprits

LV,

I have the DDM clamps and still got the code, but one of the clamps is suspect.  I am awating it's replacement from DDM and my hope it this goes away.

Kenny- great find.  Just read through it.  I am going to check a few things right now.  Looking for IC bulging / leak if I can see, checking all clamps again and go from there.

UPDATE:

Code cleared, warranty work completed and new DDM clamp installed.  So far, it's the best the car has ever driven.  The pull from the line is much better now and I have not yet popped a code or lost boost.  I sure hope it stays like this!  Now, it's just getting the TCM squared away and we are off to the races! Go DickW Go!!!!

End result of my P0101 code- faulty clamp.
