LPFP can be a plug and play swap with a fuel pump from a GM SUV on the GMT900 platform. Jae is testing this theory right now on the BB.

The only reason I asked is because you wrote it right next to opening the engine and I thought maybe there was something I missed during my vacation

Arabas · « **Reply #151 on:** July 12, 2010, 07:59:26 AM »

hahahahaha!!!
i bet you are now wondering why you came back from vacation!!!!
no Kenny, that was in random order.
i bet changing fuel pump, especially with an upgraded turbo, is a must, to get enough fuel in the engine.
i just don't know which pump is the weakest link on our cars. HP or LP.
there is an Opel dealer here that is preparing a 500HP GT. will learn a lot from his project (if he ever finishes it)

kennysabarese · « **Reply #152 on:** July 12, 2010, 08:03:01 AM »

Vince seems to be able to do whatever is necessary from the HPFP so I don't think it's weak, you just need to be able ton control it with programming and HPT can't yet.

The LPFP does not use programming. It just pumps fuel and is self regulating so it doesn't push too much. Got that from a GM guy who works on fuel systems on Kappa and others. So the LP is the "weak" one.

Arabas · « **Reply #153 on:** July 12, 2010, 08:06:36 AM »

That's exactly what Vince told to a friend of mine. plus he said that with stock turbo, the LP and HP are more than enough.
just got to believe him!!

Kelu · « **Reply #154 on:** July 12, 2010, 08:36:24 AM »

Ok Arabas, I have talked with Revo guy from my country, their HPFP is WEAK compared with ours, that's why they upgrade HPFP initially to do around 360hp, when they hit 450 they add a walboro lpfp in series with the existing one from tank.

Our HPFP with Vince's pressure raiser tables is enough even for upgraded turbo (see ZZP case) so we only need to upgrade the LPFP when doing high powers (like over 450hp) and the solution is simple and cheap as Kenny stated. So we fix "stage 1" only from ECU and jump to "stage 2" compared with TFSI engine from VAG.

BUT we are missing 360hp powers with stock turbo, this is the main issue which we have vs VAG guys.

Arabas · « **Reply #155 on:** July 12, 2010, 09:25:43 AM »

OK Kelu, so VAG is using KKK04. but which version? can it be placed in our cars?
will the engine handle the power or will it break down?
Kenny, do you have a link for the pump u are talking about?

To bad vw's in the USA don't come with a ko4 stock they all come with ko3 and i am the envy of all my Vw brotherin down here cause I got a ko4 and they don't lol

Kelu · « **Reply #157 on:** July 12, 2010, 12:50:09 PM »

slowsol: you don't have there the models from EU which have k04, if you would have Audi S3 that would be with K04, same for VW GTI Edition 30, same for Seat Leon Cupra or Audi TTS.

2.0 tspeed · « **Reply #158 on:** July 12, 2010, 01:15:13 PM »

I know all we have is the audi tts so if you want ko4 you gotta pay lol or just buy the kit to swap and yeah I wish we got half the audis and vw's you guys had

Kelu · « **Reply #159 on:** July 12, 2010, 01:19:07 PM »

I wish you to pay as we pay for VAG cars, than we talk

LatinVenom · « **Reply #160 on:** July 12, 2010, 07:23:22 PM »

Arabas,
Since you guys have the Trifecta tune, have you done any competitive Drag racing and what were the 1/4 mile times?.
I am a believer that Vince with all of what Kelu has can make the car go below 13 seconds in 1/4.
By the way those Michelin Pilots PS2 are a great tire and they stick very well, just like my GY GS-D3's.
However for drag racing it would be either Drag radials or a set of slicks. What I do not know is if our dif would handle a set of slicks before coming apart.

kelu just cant drive hes taking lessons from me

Arabas · « **Reply #162 on:** July 13, 2010, 02:50:49 AM »

LatinVenom, no i haven't done any official drag racing with timing, so i honestly do not know.
from what i can understand we Trifectas have just a bit more power and definetely more torque than the other tunes, but i haven't compared with Westers.
i.e. rolling 3rd gear from any speed with Trifecta, is a nightmare for any other tuned GT..

if i ever learn how to drag correctly (that needs practice) i will try that.
what would help, is a launch control that i believe Vince and Lyndon could offer as part of their tunes. EDS does that.
Maybe we should let them know. it works good from what i have seen

Kelu · « **Reply #163 on:** July 13, 2010, 05:44:52 AM »

Lyndon doesn't offer launch control afaik, not even Vince, i got WOT Box and very happy with it.

Arabas · « **Reply #164 on:** July 13, 2010, 05:47:58 AM »

i know that Kelu, i m just saying, that they could offer it in their tunes, as an update or as an extra charge feature.
did you find out what model K04 the VAG use?

Kelu · « **Reply #165 on:** July 13, 2010, 05:56:48 AM »

no and i'm not searching cause is no good to change our turbos with theirs for 30hp-40hp

2.0 tspeed · « **Reply #166 on:** July 13, 2010, 08:36:33 AM »

Try a trifecta tune couldn't hurt

Kelu · « **Reply #167 on:** July 13, 2010, 08:49:35 AM »

For $500 and another $100 on the shipping? nahhh

Arabas · « **Reply #168 on:** July 13, 2010, 09:05:37 AM »

since you have HP tuners, you have no shipping involved
as for the price, i m not sure its $500

Kelu · « **Reply #169 on:** July 13, 2010, 09:18:53 AM »

Arabas: Vince tune is done through his cable and not through HPT so shipping remains.

Arabas · « **Reply #170 on:** July 13, 2010, 09:33:33 AM »

about the cable, i know (X10 flash-times) Kelu

maybe i understood that wrong, but i think the below statement refers to HPtuners and like devices.

Tunable Trifecta LNF tune - We also have a special version of the 2007-2010 Trifecta tune for the 2.0L / Turbocharged engine that is tunable using commerically available tuning software as well. Other tuners can now take advantage of all the goodies Trifecta has unlocked in the LNF ECM!

personally, i have no experience from Westers tune, but i think that the gains form a Trifecta tune (if there are any compared to what u already have) will not be tremendous.
Maybe LatinVenom know something more.
i haven't even dynoed my Trifecta GT...

I didn't get that.

Trifecta tune requires his cable also in that case which you mentioned, I'm aware of that version. The biggest gain is that can be tuned on top of it (tables which are not cracked by HPT) on the values which are unlocked by HPT.

I consider same thing, the differences might be too small to worth the effort and money.

Arabas · « **Reply #172 on:** July 13, 2010, 09:45:03 AM »

i know 10 times about the cable, coz i have used it 10 times so far! hahahaha

OK, i misunderstood the statement.
as far as the cable, that's a mini usb to USB cable and a coverter from USB to OBD.

kennysabarese · « **Reply #173 on:** July 13, 2010, 09:52:27 AM »

He will not gain any performance with a Trifecta tune.
