Thats cool! Yes, I can stumble my way though hpt logs
Where did you get the product? and how does it work? Because I am a big fan of the launch control idea...however I will need a clutch that can take the abuse first... stock wont like the slam & burn.
So you have your launch control set at 2850 RPMS? have you found that to be your best launch RPM? (I will be hitting the track soon:))
google WOT Box
More info about it:
The WOT Box adds two major features to any car. They are No-lift shifting and 2-step launch control. Both of these features are completely user-programmable using the WOT Box Graphical User Interface.
The No-Lift Shift feature makes no-lift shifting easy by cutting your engine's ignition for a very short period while you no-lift shift. No-lift shifting is keeping the gas down through the shifft. The ignition cut allows the synchros in your transmission to mesh easily, reducing the chance of missing a gear and damaging your transmission. Keeping your foot down through the shift also allows you to hold boost through the shift, thereby significantly improving your E.T.
The major benefits are:
Lower ETs
Reduced chance of missing a gear
More consistent, effortless shifts
Reduced wear on the transmission
Reduced chance of major transmission damage
The 2-Step Launch Control modulates the ignition by cutting power to individual ignition coils to hold the RPM you want to launch at. The turbo will spool up while you do this. You can use this feature for a more consistent and more powerful launch in boost!
I raced my stock clutch for over 300 launches and over 15 000 miles in 2 years, until I installed nitrous and doing HUGE torque I didn't had problems with it. But a better clutch will definetly help, just installed SPEC 3+ Stange Clutch and SPEC flywheel (Non-SAC).
What you saw in the logs is not actual setting for the race, the logs were done just for show off purposes. Launch RPM depends on traction track/tires and varied in my case on our crappy strips from 3000rpm-4500rpm. Basically you go to the track with low rpm launch like 3000rpm and work your way up, if it bogs increase the RPM launch, always check your 60ft (don't listen your sense if you are a beginner).
For WOT Shift is same but decreasing the time from 0.4s (default) down as low as how fast you can change gears, I went to 0.2s on good strips. This WOT Shift will kill your clutch more than 2nd step LC but is more beneficial for ET than the LC. Also WOT Shift is safer for the gearbox and reduces the chances for miss shifts.
ALWAYS log the races with HPT (recommended) or any other logging software, I would use race gas in your case at strip just to keep that engine safe while you push it.
Drop your pressure in rear tires in mod/test way, I found best performance 15-20psi with street tires and inflate front tires up to 45psi.
TEST / TEST / TEST - that is the key, try to find a track not busy to allow you at least 10 runs in a day to be able to work on the fine tuning.
