A little insight for you guys to understand what it takes.
1 - Duplicate the site to another location.
2 - Convert the new database to 2.0 (cannot revert to existing forum once converted. Also none of the 1.X mods are compatible with 2.X)
3 - Once the new site is up, convert the theme to the new version. This is what I having problem with right now.
4 - Figure out all the new features that used to be addons to the 1.X but is now part of 2.X and document the changes.
5 - Figure out and load all the mods that are compatible with 2.X that did the remaining upgrades I originally had for 1.X and document that.
6 - invite a few members to login to the new site to check for errors.
Once completed.
7 - Shut down the new site and delete it. (except save the new theme). Suspend the old one with a Site Maintenance Screen since there are new post/members and duplicate the site.
8 - Take all the recorded upgrades, enter them methodically until the site is complete.
9 - Move the old site to a backup saved spot and relocate the new site onto the old one
10 - Open the new site with a Trouble Ticket section and allow users back in.
