You should have registered for the NASSM AutoCross.  You'd have a LOT more challengers!

I figured that.  All I meant was that you're probably not gonna find too many Kappas around that weekend.

I'd love to, but I've got other duties that weekend that I can't get out of. (No, not nationals...)

Car should be working by then though. :banghead:
2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 Crew Cab, LM7 4L60E (What I traded my Kappa for. I regret nothing.)
2012 Chevy Camaro 2SS RS LS3 TR6060.
2021 Ram 2500 Cummins
2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 3.6, manual trans.

I'd challenge you at Nationals, because that's where I'm registered.
But good luck.  Stay on course and dodge them cones.

Had a blast out there!  I was the only Kappa.  There were mostly Porches (well, it is their club) but there was a Cobra roadster (not Larry, think he might be at Cumberland today), a Z28, a Firebird, an S2000, a mid-80s Prelude, a BMW Z3 and 335i, and, believe it or not, a Lexus (who broke her car, unfortunately).  Much more technical course than the CDC - Bowie course I ran last summer (the only other autocross I've done).

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

A very tight 180 turn that the best drivers shifted back to 1st to take (I did not, did not want to try and shift to an unsynchronized gear when my attention was already very busy), a bigger 180 turn the spun a couple of Porches, a slalom, and a loop de loop.  Really taught me how much I have to learn!  After a couple of runs, I did finally learn to look 3 gates ahead.  You would think those cones had bikinis on them - I just want to stare at them!!  Don't have that problem on the road.  Anyway, once I mastered looking ahead I stopped missing gates and did - alright.  My new challenge is to brake sooner - kept coming into turns too hot.  But I had a blast and learned and that is what I wanted to do.

The results are not posted yet.  I think my best time was 1:04.5 and I think that is mid-pack but we will see.

Car is much better this year.  Adding the ProBeam to the Backbone I had before really made it much more controllable.  Love the extra  GMPP power.  Set the tire pressures at 36 psi cold all round and the backs were scuffed right to the edge of the tread but the fronts half-way up the sidewall.  By the DIC, between runs they were 38/39 psi.  Will add a pound on the front next time.

How big was the lot the course was set up on?  By the times that were set, I would assume it was pretty big...

Not big but tight and slow. Had a loop de loop which created vitual space and some very slow corners. That was part of my problem - I wanted to faster than the course would allow. Rewarded control and technique.
