Custom Interior Graphics
« on: June 15, 2010, 12:16:28 AM »
So, after spending countless days under virtual monsoon conditions :(, we finally had some sunshine on the weekend :), and I decided it was time to get my custom interior graphics finally installed on my Inferno. It was a 2hr drive to the vendor's location, 2.5hrs to install, and a 2hr drive home. After everything is said and done, it was probably 6.5 of the best hours spent in my life! Top down driving all the way, enjoyed some good times watching my new graphics getting installed, and best of all, the look of my interior now is far better than I ever imagined.

I know it's not for everyone, but keep in mind, this goes with my overall car theme, Inferno, as the colour is Inferno Orange Metallic (We don't use the 'brazen' badge here in Canada :ca2:). Mind you, after spending 6.5 hrs in the glaring sun, I also now match my car's colour!  :D

Let me know whatcha think. I apologize in advance for the kinda fuzzy pics. It was dark out when I got home, and my camera is finikky at the best of times. That, and I was tired as hell!

Sask,

Is this the car you had in the car show?  Or was that someone else?

Are they vinyl decals?

I'm curious also, Sask, as to whether your graphics are embroidered or applied.  As an "inferno orange" Solstice owner I like what you've done.  It goes well with the "theme" of your car.

Over on the BB, he said they were applied... I'm guessing they are stitched, then "ironed-on" (my simplification), similar to the iron on patches I used to have as a kid.

And yes, GJ, that was him that showed in that car show and did the handouts...

Yep GJ that was me with the car show pics recently. It was actually at that show where I met the vendor who does these.

They are a special heat transfer graphic, similar to an 'iron-on' for lack of a better term. I looked into it again, and it seems it's a patented process, so I'm guessing there is more to it than I thought at first. They are not stitched into the leather, which saves it from potential damage down the road (or on application?), and theoretically allows a change down the road if I so chose to do so (which I don't).

The decals themselves have a felt feel to them, not quite sure what material they are, presumably something that is special to the patented process.

I would be interested in the long-term wear and tear on these "transfers" and the website of who did the install.  Thanks in advance.  They look great, and really spice up your car.

They do come with a 2 year warranty, so I'm hoping for some good durability and long wear. We'll see what comes over time though.

The company I used is a subsidiary of a parent company based out of the US (I believe), so if you are wanting more info on these, google "Autographz!!!" (with the exclamation marks), and I am sure there should be a dealer closer to wherever you are.

That's them! Wasn't sure if I was allowed to post the website, or I would have earlier.

Those look nice but I wonder how they would hold up in the 95 degree heat and 100% humidity.
