Topic: Mecca of romanian drag racing event

On 3-4 July will take place 2nd edition of the most important race from Romania, in nord - west of the country.

Last year I got 2nd place in street category in my group, I was slammed by a BMW M3 E46 (343hp - best ET 13.1s) with some mods, back than I didn't had my exhaust. There were over 8000 spectators and over 200 cars. This year the level raised a lot!!!

This year the event will be held on 2 days (qualifications on saturday and the finals on sunday), Opel is the main sponsor, there will many other small attractions at the event like: drift show, drift taxi, rally show, jet dragster, etc. The event is organized to a very high professional level and can't be compared with any other event from Romania. They just announced they will bring a huge pool at the airfield with tons of sand to allow people to cool down, in that period of time there are temperatures 90F - 105F.

In the racing segment will be:
- 2nd stage of Central European Drag Championship with Race and Street categories, I will race in street to a group with cars with only one traction axle (FWD or RWD) with engines 1.6L - 2L forced induction or 2.5L - 3.8L NA, no striping is allowed (you must have even the spare wheel) and only street legal tires
- Opel Cup with 3 groups where I will race on the biggest group, I don't have enough info about this, if they allow race cars than my target is Top 8, if allow only street cars my target is top 5 (my buddy with Opel Speedster is the favorite in this case)
- Local race where only cars/drivers from that district are racing

Because the level of the other cars raised so much until last year and I spent all my money to go to races my car left a little bit slow  I'm not so good with my cash but I will do everything to attend this event.

Good luck to you Kelu on July 3rd and 4th at the drag racing event in nord.  I really enjoyed both video's you posted.  You could tell everyone was having a good time.  I must complement you Kelu!  I was very much taken with the beautiful young ladies in the video's.  You are so lucky to live in Romania, the country with all the beautiful ladies and young girls.  I do wish that you win the events, and or place highly, and that you drive to your capabilities.  Drive safe, we are all in your corner.

LatinVenom Now I know, if weather will be hot as hell I will not push it for a record but to be constant and get best place, if the temperature will be under 85F I will try to get lower, depends a lot on the surface (last year was weaker than the other races because is a rented operational airfield which can be treated in any way)

Does anybody spotted the kappa launch in the movie from last year (first movie in first topic)? 

Organizers announced they will sent trailers to pickup different competitors from middle, center and east of the country FOR FREE. The places are limited and race cars have priority but I hope I will qualify to put my car on the trailer because will save me $200 expenses with the trip.

Damn, initially I didn't understood what you mean, than I figure it out and went and checked the word "trailer" for confirmation and looks correct for the meaning which I have used, so you fooled me AGAIN 

Spoke with organizers and Opel Cup is for free, no registration fee and they will allow all types of Opel, romanians, hungarians, street and race cars. I have spotted 2-3 Opels in Hungary as race cars one even doing 10 seconds  so my target for Opel Cup is top 5 overall.

does this mean you need to add a spare tire to the trunk or the passenger seat?  or perhaps add it to the hood?  I just can't figure out where the best place to put it is.  Perhaps you buy a rack for the trunk and put it there for more weight over the rear wheels?

No no no he's going to swap it in for the steering wheel.  The steering wheel being smaller can then be placed just about anywhere.

George, I told you Malaka is a great and funny guy, I do know the ZR1 owner too, not so close buddy but we know for some years. Now please translate.

I just did hotel reservations for the guys leaving from Bucharest, 11 double rooms all those cars which I showed (except ZX300 and GTR R32) so we pretty much will be leaving together, will be fun even on the road.

I don't think is like that, ZR1 owner is a superbike pilot, he keeps his ZR1 stock and doesn't want any advertising based on it (i purposed him for an tuning magazine and he refused), he doesn't race his car. I doubt he challenged Malaka but I can't be 100% sure.

Malaka is the one making challenges, he usually races the the blue BMW E30 (turboed 280hp M3 engine), the Audi RS6 and some others. That movie was made when he was setting up his ECU.
