Austin, Texas is a perfect choice for NASSM 2011.  It's time to celebrate Texas style and the great state of Texas will provide for a foot-stoppen, no nonsense National Meet.  As a sidelight, if the timing is appropriate, a Texas Rodeo would be loads of fun and show all the guys back East how it's done Texas style!  Also, it's about time we gave the great members from Texas a time to shine.  :yay:

I went to a Rodeo in Houston in 2009.
You really don't realize how big those Bulls are until you are up close.
I would not want to be riding one of those.

Kenny, thanks for asking.  snaponbob lives just across town from us.  I will try try to get in touch with him.  Slightly off topic, but it is fun to caravan to meets.  I remember on the 2008 Southeast Regional Meet held in Lexington, Kentucky, folks from the Midwest, Kansas City area, met in Webster Groves, Missouri, near St Louis, where one of my sons lives, and we did a caravan to the meet.  It was indeed a lot of fun.  I'm thinking about trying to get a caravan set up for the 2011 National Meet to be held in Austin, Texas.  I would not miss that meet for anything as we have relatives who live in Austin. It is a great City, and perfect for a National Meet.  The drive down from Kansas City would be a blast.  Anyone interested from the midwest, please hop on this.

I may start a separate thread later, as it gets closer to the event.

I am definitely considering it. However, it will take me about two days to get there. I'll need to make some fast friends along my route ;)

Maybe I can start a train from the West... pick up folks along the way.  San Diego, Yuma, Pheonix, etc...  like a snow ball rolling down hill...

Wondering if there is an AUTOTRAIN to somewhere in TX from the east coast. That would be the way to go.  We have one from NYC to JAX, FL. Hmmm... a day on a train, save mileage, save wear and tear, gas, etc. I am gonna have to look into this. More info to follow if I find something.

Well so much for that idea... only can ship a car between VA and FL. Guess I proabably won't be coming. TX is just too long of a drive for me for a National Event.  CT is a LONG way from TX.
