I personally like the Carbon Flash style better than chrome for racing. For cruising, I prefer the chromes.

Not trying to hyjack your thread snaponbob, but I have always leaned toward the OEM Chrome wheels.  On your Sky Redline the Painted wheels look awesome as they look great with the color of your Roadster and you don't have the Chrome and Red Pontiac signature all over your Roadster!  Just personal choice, the Chrome's just add some flash and go with other accents on my Aggressive GXP.  Chrome and Red are meant for each other.  For instance, other Chrome exterior accents on my Pontiac:

Chrome accents top side of the headlights.
Pontiac Red and Chrome signature, front, back, and both sides.
Exterior Chrome Door handles
Chrome Exhausts
Other smaller Chrome accents on back

I like both, though I think I still prefer the OEM chrome rims best.  Your painted rims turned out very well.

Can I ask you a question in return?  I just swapped out to a different set of OEM rims on my coupe from the original chromes.  Which do you think looks better?  Again, I like both, but perhaps as a result of seeing all the factory publicity photos of the coupes with these particular wheels on, I think I prefer the twin spokers, at least for now (they are polished as opposed to chromed).

That's tough...I like the chrome better, but the wheel design is a toss up.  I think if the twin spoke were chrome I would like them better, but since they are not, I like to original OEM ones.  The chrome, in my personal opinion, looks better against the sly color.  BUTTTTT, if it were me, I would get the twin spoke and just have them powdercoated or chromed LOL.  I have been known to be a little car crazy.  HA HA

Chrome has the reputation of distressing rather quickly in wet climates (which BC definitely is) and I'd have reservations about trying anything on the Q9Y wheels as they are pretty rare (supposed to be made for a run of 500 cars but some evidence that only 138 were actually sold).  I agree about it being a bit of a toss up and I would also like the twin spoke with chrome!!

Painted have the OEM granite Goodyears, but when they are used up, something better

Nice, but at minimum $150 PER wheel, I will stick with the rattle cans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Total investment was about $30 for ALL the wheels.
