You can do a ride along, log the run on my computer with one hand and film with the other :) you game?

Jeez, how could I refuse such a sweet offer?!

Not sure what time I'm going to make it down there.  Gonna try to squeeze in a run in the morning since I don't HAVE to be there until 1130 for my heat's tech inspection.

This thread's awful quiet, you participating boys-n-girls gettin nervous or something?

Critterman, I guess it's just you & me in the morning buddy. We'll have to stir up the bee hive for the afternooners.  :poke:  More so you than me, I'll probably be playing connect the cones. Hope they don't put too many out, gets a little confusing.

I find if there are two many, it is easier to make your own course.

It's unlikely that I'll be any competition.  Who's all going to the Summer Sizzler in Cumberland next weekend?  I'm leaning toward it... at least Saturday.

I'll be at Cumberland on Saturday.

Jimmy, the reason I got quiet is that I've been working mad overtime these past few days. In the last week I've worked over 65 hours, so that's 25 hours of overtime. Was supposed to have today off but ended up at work...got a lot of things to do to the car tonight...

Not sure if I'll make Cumberland, I think thats about a 3 1/2hr. haul for me.

Phil, no problem, money is good. Although uncle sam is gonna hit you hard on that one.

Gotta get some rest for the big day, see everyone tomorrow. I'll probably be there waiting at the gate about 07:30.

Well, the car has been (mostly) prepped, and I've got my gear all ready. I'm hoping to get there just before ten, if I don't to sleep in a couple hours I might as well not show up.

In other news, I discovered the other day that my tires are just about shot...hoping these can get me through tomorrow AND Cumberland safely...If I wasn't so out of practice I'd skip this weekend in hopes of saving some rubber...hopefully I don't burn them down too bad tomorrow.

Okay I will be the first to post, decided to make my own track, because they had all the cones in the wrong places.  The big news is I didn't hit any cones, the bad news is I was looking ahead, but would miss single cone setups.  3 off course, one completed, and I might as well post it first before everyone else.  61 or 2 and change, but that's not bad after comming to a complete stop on the course.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKdG3wEMJuQ

Definately need to work on my set up, never rolled the tires under (started at 32 lbs) even after dropping them to 29 lbs.  Front shocks set at 17 clicks, rears at 25.  Could not go over half/three  quarter throttle with out throwing the back end around.  Dropped the rear shocks to 21 didn't help.  Enjoy my misfortune :) because I did have fun.

Nice meeting you fine folks, hope you had a good time. I wound up second in X3 and the wife was 4th in X4 so we're pretty thrilled with how we ran. Still can't get remotely close to that stinkin Corolla, though.

Looks like Jimmy took third in his class, never mind demolishing the rest of us! The instant torque of that S/C really should stomp us turbo guys if you can get it to the ground. I ended up worse overall than I though, kinda disappointing. I'll just have to stick to my excuse about the track being slippery as snot.

I did manage to beat both Ferraris though...I guess all in all not a bad showing for my first event in months. Honestly this was just the second autocross since I installed my new suspension. Though it was as solid as a rock at the Porsche club event in April it may well need some more tweaking...

Great to have all of you folks out, it really filled out X2 and X3 and made for an interesting field.  You all have a great platform to work from, as B-Stock is being dominated by a co-driven Solstice right now with the WDCR SCCA.  Hopefully you'll all be back for the next event =)

And two words: Racing Slicks. Looking at their championship points for X3, a corolla is in first place...kinda tells you something.

No racing slicks on the car, just some ancient Hoosier A3SO5's (the tire they made before the Hoosier A6) that I have laying around for regional non-SCCA events.

Here is a vid of my fastest pass.  I cleaned up the language in the vid from where I was bs'ing with someone at the starting gate and while my goggles (I have terrible depth perception w/out them) were fogging up on course.

Nice run, you make it look so easy :)

A lot of it is about seat time and getting plenty of it. This season alone I've logged around 21 days on autocross courses.  Beyond that, always ask questions and pick peoples brains and constantly watch the track.  Yesterday I ran in the afternoon but I showed up in the morning before the course even opened to see plenty of runs and figure out my best plan for the course.

With the BMWCCA there are plenty of good sources to get info from.  AJ, James Dunham, Noel are just a few of the names of folks whom have a wealth of knowledge.

Nice run! And it was great talking to you before the event.

Same.  You look like you have quite the fun vehicle!
