No-Lift Shift Add ?
« on: August 09, 2010, 12:53:52 PM »
OK, I have the Westers Race Tune and he added the code for the No-Lift Shift, but either I am retarded and can't do it or I am too afraid to test it out appropriately.  Is there a sensor or two that I need to add from the GMPP tune in order to activate it?

55206797 - TMAP Sensor -- 3.0 bar

I don't need to re-tune it since I am quite happy with Westers.

I think you two are confusing eachother.  The sensors shouldn't have anything to do with the NLS should they?  Wester's should be able to add it to any tune, regardless of the upgraded MAP sensors.  Heck, I have had NLS since I bought the car  (oh, yeah, I have an automatic.  sorry.)

Still, I don't think the sensors have anything to do with it.  Check the parameters of the NLS requirements, and then try harder.

You do not need the sensors to have NLS added to your tune. There is no correlation between the two.

Guys you are confusing me even more.
NLS is present in GMPP calibration, calibration which requires 3bar sensors.
Never heard that NLS can be added in our factory tunes by any tuner.

I believe it is a very recent breakthrough, not previously available.

I believe you are right Critter, Spiky has it and I think he only got this recently.

Then maybe it is me, I am jsut afraid to try it or I am just doing it wrong.  I have sent my box to Westers twice now over two years and its supposed to be on there.

Pretty sure Spiky doesn't have it.  He too has an automatic.  Well, technically, he does have it, but not the same as what Kelu is looking for.  Does that make any sense?

Not sure why this wasn't advertised more.  I would think this is a great selling / upgrade point for Wester's.

Go get it Kelu!

You're right, but he keeps babbling about something new and amazing that Westers added to his tune.  Sometimes all I hear is blah, blah, Westers, blah, power band, blah!

Kidding of course! We <3 Spicy.

Kelu, since it's in the GMPP Calibration (meaning software), Lyndon has a copy of the manual tune and has added the feature to Excelsior's tune.  I don't have it on mine.  I spoke to Excelsior at the nationals and he's having trouble testing it and we think the tune may be missing something.

Has anyone else received the NLS from Westers without having the GMPP upgrade and able to get it to work?

Thank you for the info Joe, for the moment I will stick with WOT Box because getting the NLS with that is much easier and configurable as GMPP NLS.

well darn i thought you had to have the sensors to get the NLS.  i have westers race tune and i just recently bought the 3bar sensors(cause i thought they were needed) to try to get westers to incorporate the gmpp tune into my race tune.  i didnt want to pay $500 for the gmpp kit then have westers retune around that.  so now i have the sensors which really isnt a problem and i dont mind installing them and getting the 3bar upgrade and the NLS.  the problem is that westers cant find a gmpp OS that works with my car.  i have an 08 and already tried the gatewayecotec but that didnt work.  my car was built in late 07 so could that mean i would need a 07 gmpp .hpt file to make it work?  it doesn't really seem like itd make that big of a difference but ya never know.  anybody have a gmpp .hpt file i could send to westers to let them try out?  i have a 08 manual redline with no brake assist.
