I did 2 oil changes, all the time I end up with max level oil on the dipstick even I warned the mechanic not to overfill it , my oil never dropped in 13 000 miles lower than max level.
My PCV is clean as new.

Mine was like an inch over max. That's a lot more oil.

The pcv is not designed to stop oil. I don't think oil is supposed to get to it in the first place.

Just some new guy,

Welcome to the forum.  Unless that part is tucked up under the bonnet, that isn't what I am seeing.  Perhaps that is an additional part we haven't found yet?

Yes it's coming from the PCV. That's what this entire thread is about.

Check your oil to see if it's overfilled. I want to see if I'm the only one who has overfilled the oil and gotten a dirty PCV or if it happens even with normal oil levels.

Will do.  Should be able to get time this weekend.

You have the right part number for the PCV, but that photo is wrong.

I believe you can also get the PCV and hose together and the part number for that is 12606566

Funny thing is GMPartsGiant database shows the part is #529 in the drawing [attachment=1]
http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/online/Page_Product/PartDetail.aspx?modelYear=2007&model=Solstice&make=Pontiac&catalogCode=2M9&modelCode=2MG67&seriesCode=2MG&bodyStyleCode=67&engineCode=LNF&transCode=MA5&majorIndexID=00&minorIndexID=2M0001701&isBigPicture=True

The part number Rock Auto uses # 12589440 is what ShopGMAccessories.com told me the part was.

According to the dealer, what everyone is calling the PCV is not the PCV it is a braised steel hose with check valve on the end called the PCV tube different part number and $60 from the dealer, the PCV valve is on the intake just like in the picture above.

PCV 12589440
PCV Tube with check valve 12598298 (this seems to be the part that is failing)

That makes more sense!  The PCV in a N/A system is always on the line from the crankcase to the intake manifold.  The line from the comp. inlet to the valve cover is the fresh air supply to the crankcase.  The valve on that line must be a check valve.

That is the fresh air supply to the crankcase.

It can't be...

This is all really getting out of hand and getting way too confusing. The line that runs from the intake nipple to the crank case has the flow direction marked, clearly showing that it is an intake. So, intake nipple, PCV valve, steel-braided line, crank case. The outlet is a simple steel-braided line running from the crank case to the turbo, I don't think there's any sort of valve on that one.

The line running from front of valve cover to turbo is one of the oil lines - not a pcv line.  PCV valve, Part # 529 in the drawing is the PCV valve and it must be under the intake man.

 :agree: with Kelu.
let me say that, maybe it s BS, but it s a thought.
from the crankcase fumes come out towards the turbo and this is the steel braided line (with no valve or anything else)
if this loss of fumes is not replaced by something, there will be a vaccum, thus it will not leave and/or maybe create some pressure.
so there is a braided line from the intake towards the crankcase (the steel braided line with the one way valve) to get some fresh air to the crankcase) to replace the fumes that are leaving from the other braided line.
how the two lines work, i believe is clear by now. why the crankcase needs fresh air is sthg i don t know but i assume with the above.
now we need two oil catch cans to keep any oil out of the intake...

EXACTLY! the one going to the turbo is to vent to the turbo so the oil vapor gets burned, the other sucks in air from fresh air, which is why there should not be oil in there unless the check valve at the end of the PCV hose is failing, it would seem that the check valve is the failing part on the PCV hose, this is very confusing the dealer knew less than we do! He did know the PCV was on the intake, which is why he had absolutely no clue what I was talking about with the braided steel hose.

This means shabby and IBDRINKING and others who mounted an oil catch can there they block the oil to/back to the turbo????

Just some new guy That was the exact same thing which I was telling on the other topic, you were saying the PCV is on the intake side of the crankcase.

Now everything is very confusing

No you don't need two catch cans, if the check valve is functioning correctly there will be no oil in the hose off the air filter, it just won't go that way, if it is not the oil will go into the catch can then into the air cleaner. DDM got it right when they did IBDRIKEN's car, fix the check valve a catch can won't solve that problem.

well yes actually and that was the point, it is waste oil and not lubricating oil

THAT IS PCV!!!

In my english:
oil line = line used for the oil system (lubricating oil)
PCV = lines used to vent the crankcase (fumes, residues, etc) one to inhale, one to exhale

The fresh air comes into the valve cover by the braided line with the check valve that has the flow arrow pointing toward the valve cover.  The other braided line does not have a PCV valve and CANNOT be part of the PCV system!  There is a line from the crankcase to the intake manifold which has the PCV Valve in it (Part #529 in the diagram).  This line sucks crankcase vapors into the intake manifold.  The braided line on the right side of the motor cannot be this line because it has NO valve.
