Kagem's GT dynos, Trifecta tune
« on: September 18, 2010, 12:48:00 PM »
Kagem has Trifecta tune and no other mods. however, in some races between GTs (including mine) he has one of the strongest, if not the strongest GT in Greece, with stock turbo.
two days ago, he did some mods to his exhaust (only the final part) just for the sound.
today he went to the dyno -Dynojet.
his numbers are

Power 291whp
torque 49 kN*M !!!!! (don't know conversion to US system)

he promised to scan his dyno sheets and send them to me on Monday.

Will post them soon. From what he said, in 200rpm, from 3000 to 3200rpm, he has a raise of 80whp !!!

291 whp seems right comparable with Dynojet guys from US.
Regarding tq: 49 kNm= 490 Nm = 361 ft-lbs.

Yeah, he spikes boost between 3000-3200rpm as we all do, I started to hate that.

Yeah that spike is worthless and terrible.  Also, you no longer have that. ;)

Has he done a 1/4 mile times?.
Are the surface for drag racing in Greece similar to Kelu's?.
At 349 BHP the car with it's weight should be on the 12's.

To one extent or another all the LNFs with stock turbos "spike" torque at 31-3200 rpm. What gas was used?

Believe it or not N/A's do the same thing with the factory tune, it can be tuned out but you have to add power (thinks S/C or Turbo).  I believe that is where the cam's start moving from economy to power.

afaik, Kagem only uses premium gas.

What is considered "premium" there? Those curve look very much like mine, but I had to use 100 octane to stretch out the horsepower curve beyond 5400 rpm. I have yet to see any dyno graphs with NOT showing a drop off at ~5400 rpm on 93 or lower gas on a stock turbo'ed LNF..

we have two kind of gas here:
95 octane (plain) and 100 octane (premium)
LNF is variable timing, correct?

Arabas: Variable Valve Timing you meant? Yes
100 European octane are not really 100 octane, they are more a marketing branding and the gas is actually 98 "pure" octane.
Also take care about sharing octane rating for our friends from US. EU gas is rated differently than in N. America.
"The octane rating shown in the United States is 4 to 5 points lower than the rating shown elsewhere in the world for the same fuel."
I personally rate 98-100 european octane gas comparable with 93 US octane one.

Copied from that link ---

"EuroSuper" or "EuroPremium" or "Regular unleaded" in Europe    95    85–86    90–91
"SuperPlus" in Germany, Great Britain, Slovenia and Spain, "SP98" in France    98    89–90    93–94

Still skeptical that a 91-93 (USA) equivalent pump gas can create the above graph. Again, this is based on the various graphs from LNFs on at least 6 different sites (including HPT forum) on 93 ocatne vs. 100 octane fuels.

I use 100 octane gas only, especially in a tuned car is pretty much fatal to use gas less than a 100....

Not questioning anyone's honesty. Rather, I have yet to see a dyno graph from a stock turbo'ed on our 93 octane (USA) that could MAINTAIN high horsepower levels beyond ~5400 rpm. They tend to look more like this. I sure know the difference in vehicle performance with 91 vs 100. It is not a subtle difference, either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :gaah: Having spoken with a couple guys that have tested the Trifecta and Westers tunes on their own cars, they have noted little difference for a given octane gas. (Before anyone asks, the "who" can not be shared.)
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Maybe I should contact Vince. If I can get more out of 100 octane, that would be great. The large variable is, as we know, two different dynos.

sob, without living in US, i think that your 93 octane gas should be better quality than our equivelant gas.
i bet you have more strict quality controls...
so i think that this result is something that could well be achieved with US gas.
if i recall correctly, the top whp for LNF stock turbo on a dyno, is 301whp (i think that was DDM or Trifecta, not sure)
