I Just broke my old Solstice/SKY dyno record!!! 442whp/414ftlbs!!! on Anthony's SKY Redline with a GT 35R turbocharger!!!:willy:

We re-built Anthony's engine over the past few months with a much stronger bottom end consisting of Carillo rods and Wiseco pistons and a bulletproof valvetrain using Supertech valves, dual springs and retainers as well as our new prototype timing chain tensioner piece.  This was my first time tuning a 35R on an LNF so I was not too sure what to expect, the turbo setup was done by a shop down south and is basically a T3 flange welded to a stock manifold, so I know we could pick up some extra power and torque by going to a better manifold, cough, cough - ours :)

The tune was done on 93 Octane gas and a Snow Performance water/meth injection system and we ran the boost to 27 or so psi.

Sweet.  What shoes are you going to install so he can get all that power to the ground?

Thats my friend Anthony!!!!

I referred him to Werks, since I know Werks will hook him up!!!

I helped him out buying his engine internals.

Actually Dave, he is using K1 Rods, and not Carillo rods! ;)

good job in tuning Dave!

I'm I reading the chart right, max torque at 5k and max hp at 6.5K  That is really streeching it's legs.

I'm pretty confused about this because torque threshold is around 5000rpm, we all have seen better (SKY888's GT35 doing that a lot sooner around 4400rpm) BUT most important is that torque plot which drops 70wtq in 1000rpm and another 35wtq up in next 800rpm, so it drops over 100 wtq on the 2000rpm power band.

What were the limitations of this to cause pretty late tq threshold and than 1/4 tq drop in the power band?

What specs has this GT35? Isn't this a Garret GT3582?

Anthony's turbo is a garrett gt35r

not sure if he's using .63 or .82 AR housings though.

that could be the difference in spool time

I am using .63 AR housing....for quicker spool, but top end power will be less compared to somebody with .82 AR housing.

If is .63 than should spool way sooner, if is .82 should keep more tq up top, am I wrong?

I'm not really following that chart something looks wrong, don't torque and horsepower equal each other at 5252 RPMs?  The picture displayed shows it crossing somewhere closer to 5500 RPMs.  Perhaps the lines where compressed vertically and the scale for the RPM axis was not adjusted?

they would cross at 5252 if they increased the same on the left side.  but they are different so they cross later

HP=(Torque * RPM) / 5252

My understanding is that the HP/Torque curves will ALWAYS cross at 5252. Don't get why it doesn't, but doesn't affect the curve shape. Just shift it left a tad and everything should be fine.

In order to cross at 5252, both the torque and the HP must be plotted in the same scale.  Look at the numbers on the left like Jeb said.  The torque is plotted from 147 to 414 while the HP is plotted from 85 to 442.  NOT the same scale!
