Go-n-Def is right, I would prefer to do my own thing.  Its more fun than getting it from someone who might not have the same tastes as i do.  I found a black 2008 Gxp rock stock 19000 miles in Kennesaw ga.  I look forward to future modifications.

Dark Tech, congrats.  Just as I would have imagined.  You are certainly a chip off the old block and yes your father would want to do the same thing!  Not only that, but your Mysterious 2008 GXP being from Kennesaw, Georgia has been reared in a climate hospitable to Kappa's, not snow or sleet and top down weather from the beginning.  How sweet indeed!!!  Yes, you found the perfect Kappa and the best part is you can mod it just as you like!  How sweet does it get!  :drive: :yay: :usa: :woohoo:

hey guys, :D ive been home and I already have a backbone installed, next is the latin venom front strut bar.

It looks like im going to be grinding on the solstice to get the shine...  Does anyone have an idea for getting rid of acid rain stains in the paint?  I tried Poorboys 2.5 and its not cutting it.  Im thinking about going deeper with 3.5.

Some just went through that last summer on the big board I think, anyway check with DDM they carry some stuff, and with Poorboys, they should be able to help you

The car wasn't garaged and didn't look like it was washed much.  Previous owner wasn't a Kappa lover.  The clear coat is pretty sad in that if what Rogue suggests won't work, we may have to wet sand it and then buff it out.

Sounds like hard water spots to me.  I had the same thing on my Explorer after I bought the Solstice.  I watered my lawn all that summer.  Of course, I moved the Solstice, but didn't really care about the Explorer.  The hard water etched the clear coat and glass.

Try starting with Rain-X in a an area to take off any waxes/sealants and then go over it with PBW 3.0 and a medium cutting pad with heavy pressure. It may take several times for each section.  If that doesn't work, I'd try wet sanding with 2000 grit as your dad suggested.

It will take several times and most of the clear coat will come off with it. TRUST ME!

Acid water etching rarely ever has a happy ending. I've had some success with clay bar (mild case), buffing compound (moderate case) and sanding and polishing (extreme case). If it has gone all the way through the clear you don't have very many options. Try applying a glaze, if the appearance of the spot goes away then you can polish and wax, although that is temporary - the next wash and you have to do it all over again. If you run water over the surface and the spot disappears then a new coat of clear will solve the problem. If the spot still shows through the water, the etch has gone down to the color coat and a total repaint will be needed. That, or you could learn to live with it. Yeah, like that's going to happen! Since it sounds as though you've already tried an aggressive buffing I'm afraid you're looking at a more extreme solution. GM offers acid rain warranty, any possibility of relief in that form?

Acid Rain is not covered by any Protection Plan offered by General Motors!  It is bad stuff for sure and even with the Major Guard Coverage Agreement Protection Plan it is definitely not covered.  It of course penetrates the clear coat and simply ruins it.  Acid Rain is deadly to the Clear Coat and is to be found where plants put off sulphuric Acid and other harmful and toxic chemical combinations that enter the environment that are harmful to paint surfaces.
