Looking at buying this car so any input or anyone with experience with dealing with LEMONS would be appreciated.

Sight inspection of car:
                              Missing T2 Champion badging both sides of hood
                              Missing exhaust manifold heatshield
                              Missing Turbo heatshield
                              PVC tube/nipple broken glued on
                              Wiring looms in engine bay not routed or mounted correctly (floating)
                              Top pinching @ windows both doors
                              Drink holder broken
                              Under dash plastic trim at hood release hanging down
                              Body panels alignment issues
                              Interior smells like new!

Top and drink holder issues would be addressed by dealer after purchase other items would be my nickle at this point.

Way too expensive at dealers offer,  lemon law car would have to be sold much cheaper.  For me, 15000 would be my top price. 

If top is just pinching it's an easy fix, but if it has worn through, there is no fix.

u can get a perfectly find GXP for less than that.

i wouldn't pay more than 10k for a car with problems. then drop a V8 into it and gut it for racing.

With the hack job on the engine replacement that was my first thought. Due to the limited production of this model I was going more for the restoration and preservation.

Joe Jr just picked up a 08 GXP for 15 with nothing wrong.  That car is hosed and I wouldn't pay more than 8k for it.

Do you self a favor and stay away from this.

Seconding above comments... Don't touch it for that price.  Way nicer ones available for far less.

Plus if you want it for preservation - you don't want one with a lemon-buy-back on its record!

Second question = moot point because you are going to listen to us all and NOT buy this sh!t pot.

EVERY negative remark in this thread is correct. Every suggestion about the probable purchase price of a perfectly goof GXP is correct. You really need to think about when this car becomes a problem again, how are YOU going to be able to get around the CarFax history? Do not WALK away from this car, RUN away from this car.

U4EA   I would walk away from this car ,.With all these issues what is going to go wrong .next  LOOK at the One for sale on our site and he is only Asking 17,000.   thats my    worth. I know better, just didn't want to pass up on a limited model if it would be worth trying to salvage. Key word SALVAGE!

U4EA,  with all the issues on the car, it has to be related to either bad wiring or a bad ECM and bad wiring.  That's too expensive to troubleshoot and salvage.

Just needed to know that walking away from this car was the right thing to do and will do it without feeling like I let one get away! Wasn't really in the market for a second Solstice, goal would have been to preserve a piece of history of our common intrest.

i thought lemon law you had to have the same problem 3 times in a row also to note cyl 3 after doing research seems to blow on our cars as well as the cobalts, stock/ or with a tune. cyl3 is the one that went out on my car. why cyl 3 and not the rest. i don't understand why cyl 3 goes out on the lnf engines. anybody have the answer.

The only thing limited about the SCCA T2 was the stripe and the decals on the side of the hood, otherwise it was just a fairly loaded GXP.  . . . and it appears that the decals have been removed.

That and the lemon law stuff makes this car a piece of junk.

There are FEDERAL lemon laws, and then the states have them as well. As for the 3 times thing, NOT necessarily. For instance, in some states just ONE unresolved serious brake problem can trigger it.

p.s. the only TRUE rare Sols are FACTORY built Z0Ks, 2.4's or especially GXPs.
