I wonder just how much airflow is blocked by the ugly license plate install on Ontario solstices..I am thinking of putting in a new IC but will likely send the car to the body shop to fill the plugs the dealer so graciously drilled into the fascia ..tangent question who sells license plate mounts on here..

If Ontario mandates a front plate, the best you can do without getting tickets is to move the plate down. Dejon makes a pretty decent bracket that mounts in the honeycomb grille mesh. You can see the old holes if you look hard, but because it is gray and I touched up the old rivet holes, they aren't too obvious.

Yes we need the front plate also.
I run with the plate retracted inside so I can get the most air to the intercooler.
So far I haven't been pulled over.
And if I do, hopefully I can explain that I forgot to put it out after the last car show I was at.

The grills are not where we get air from. If you look through them you will see the foam crash protection covering most of the open area. These cars are bottom breathers they get most of their air from underneath the nose and suck it upward through the radiator. The GXP has the extra grille down low to direct addtional air to the intercooler.

Your correct. That's is why I wouldn't put the plate lower.
Also though I have a Stage 2 Supercharger from DDM and the intercooloer gets air from both upper and lower since the rad is in front of the hot water rad and just as big.
I bought the GXP nose from Wade Linger to take advantage of more air as well as Norm's air splitter.

$300 brand new. Grilles, fog lights and side markers all included.
It was a direct bolt on. I just had to order from GM the half moon panel that seals off underneath the intercooler to front nose edge.

They also forget to mention that in fact it will give you exactly zero more power on an 'otherwise untuned car' as soon as the ECM learns down again, some time between 1/2 hour and 1/2 week later.

I have an RPI sitting in my basement. Haven't had time to install it. Probably won't be done for a long time. I'm going to be away almost every weekend until August
