Dear Fellow Members,
I took a look at the "Save The Kappa" site; it was very touching. However, as I looked through their "mission statement" and other articles, one key idea seemed to be missing: PROFITS! I know this is a dirty word today with Karl Marx living in the White House, but, at least at present, this is still the driving force behind corporate decisions. AS IS IT SHOULD BE!
Sending love letters to Mr. Lutz is all very well, but if you want to get GM's attention, then show them that these cars will produce revenue in the future. The only way to do that is through sales. I'm sure with all the people on these forums, you can come up ideas that may produce tangible results, ie. money.
For example;
1) If you own a GXP, go to your nearest dealership and buy the Stage II upgrade (before you spend money on non-GM aftermarket products.)
2) Throw a "Kappa" party at a dealership and bring a friend in to buy a car. Then email the photos to GM.
3) Get a large organization to BUY a car and donate it to charity or raffle it off.
4) If you can afford it, buy another Solstice.
5) Say here's an idea: Hand write your love letter to Mr. Lutz instead of emailing it and accompany it with a photocopy of your PURCHASE ORDER FOR GM STOCK!
As the old saying goes, "Money talks and BS walks." I like my Sostice as much as anyone, and I will be showing GM that by getting the upgrade at my dealership. But, if in the end, they decide to end the Kappa run, so be it. In light of the fact that those idiots in Washington are loaning them my money (and yours) to keep them alive, GM management should be making decisions based on profitability and return on investment, not huggs and kisses.
