not really sure which direction it goes bro.   Only the EFR owners can inspect.

anyways, here's a good read about EFR turbos and the Sierra-Sierra EVO time attack car:  :)

Evidently my previous post got missed. The question still hasn't been answered and may help clear this point up. I can't help but think the engineers who designed it would have thought of this but I'm curious. If the turbo spins in the direction that loosens the nut...

Here are some more pictures with the nut itself, is just a simple nut with counter thread, no pin locks, not even some traces on the shaft to keep this nut to unbolt, the nut used for the BVand of the downpipe was way more advanced than this.:

U-238, I don't know which way a turbo typically spins CW or CCW but if you know that then you can figure it out from this statement.

I can only half way answer the question based on Kelu's picture named nut.jpg the impeller turns clockwise as viewed in the picture.  We still need to know if the nut is right or left hand thread.

Bummer

If you have any issues, maybe GMtech can help by confirming the same nut on his wasn't properly installed, and due to your failure, he checked his in time before it broke as well.

Oh well, I'm glad if I could help any Kappa owner based on my experiences. The power of sharing information.

I don't think a confirmation of same issue from another case would help, Full Race / Borg Warner said the turbo will be replaced no matter the reason, but the amount of time waiting for this turbo is approaching to the limit of my patience - 10 weeks for initial delivery + 3 weeks and counting for the replacement

Because I don't have a straight answer for delivery of the EFR turbo and because previous time this was a 10 week wait, I have decided to go back to stock turbo.

Petty I don't have Solo catless downpipe anymore, I still have stock downpipe one but this means I have to modify the tune because of the cat.

Hopefully withing one week I will have the car working again and maybe racing next weekend.

EFR plan doesn't look good at this moment, nitrous is back in my thoughts.

If you refer to 2871 as what you have, that is VERY expensive for me because I have to either ship my stock turbo or buy a used one from US which brings the kit up to +1800$.

I already spent +1500$ on the turbo + manifold, I can't afford to pay a different setup.

That's a good plan Kelu, as soon as you get the stock turbo back on and everything running like it should the replacement turbo should show up.

For what it's worth I have a stock 2007 loaner/temporary motor with the S/C installed on it & it is what it was.... enough to make me grin when I hit the gas & forget about waiting for parts worries. I agree, go back to what you had & have a running car you can drive  :)

Jimmy thanks for thumbs but for me going back to stock turbo will be like you going back to NA :P

At least this time with stock turbo and nitrous I will have a clutch which holds and I might be racing soon again just for the fun and forget to downtime of this upgrade.

DDM might have an extra sleeved block with aftermarket internals that might sell for a VERY cheap price ;)
