So I went yp to DDM yesterday and Dave tunned my car with meth. After many hours on the dyno, Im really happy witht the outcome. Is anyone else pushing these numbers on the stock turbo. All comments welcomed...

WOW, impressive numbers, iirc those numbers were achievable with big wheel turbo on DDM dyno.

I presume you didn't made any before dynos

Mike, do you have the dyno graph with the stock turbo set-up w/o meth tuning......at DDM dyno?

IBD, how much of a PIA would a meth system be for a daily driver. I was considering it once I get rebuilt but not sure if it would be a good idea beyond the track.

my car is a daily driver.

its not PITA at all.

it sprays at a desired boost level, and turns off when you're lower than the desired boost level.

maintenance is hassle free at all. Depending on the model you buy, but most of them will tell you if you have low fluid. So you just fill it up.....just like your windshield wiper fluid.

depending on how aggressive you drive and your boost settings......it can last from one week to three weeks (1 gallon tank)

you check the nozzle if it has clog build-up, probably once a year...

after using mine for 2 years, I dont even see any nozzle clog build up.....

I've inquired about a meth system with DDM Dave as well. It is his opinion that I'd be better off getting NOS instead of meth. Of course I don't want to have to worry about refilling a bottle for either a meth kit or NOS. He says the amount of work having to install either kit is about the same so I might as well go NOS if I'm going to pay for the expense plus I'll get a much bigger boost. It's just another option. Bottom line for me is I'm going to upgrade internals and my SC setup to get my desired HP so I can have it all the time without worrying about running out of anything except for fuel.

Sweet numbers!!!

Meth isn't corrosive to the engine like NOS and you can get it just about anywhere. Simple to fill and you can have it controlled with boost so when you're daily driving, the meth isn't used until you get to a specific boost level.

On 100 octane and down pipe I have 368wtq, but mine will not maintain as much torque up to 5200 rpm, so the whp is not as high. But, nicely done IB and DDM.

Its not a pita at all. On the drive back I stayed off the boost it so I didnt spray at all. We have mine tapped to the windshield washer fluid so when its low the indictator shows.

Dave has the stock graph as it put down 289 without the meth so that wasnt bad either I will see if i can get it. I was happy with anything over 300.

Dave also said that this is the first stock turbo with meth he has tunned. He prefers Nos over the meth, but Im leaning towards it as well as he said could be over 400 with it. Its about the same in price. My meth kit was 500 and the Nos kit is around 600. So its a personal prefence.

If I'm in town I would definitely make the trek up to DDM when you guys are there. April? Not sure what project I may be assigned to for my company by then. I'm always on the go, but I'm game. So, Dave must have your rods and sleeves, but waiting on pistons?

Not getting sleeves, Dave said that's only needed for stupid horsepower. I assume they have everything else. The pistons are custom made to order, Dave had to give Diamond Racing the specs & then they make them.

Just as a matter of interest, if you DO run out of meth on the road and then get into boost, does the tune automatically detect that and dial back the boost accordingly before the engine blows? Or do you just have to be careful never to run out?
